Galaxy is a disco inside the Galaxy Hotel, in HongQiao area.
Next to Galaxy is Rainbow Hotel with a disco called Casablanca.
Discos are everywhere. My favourite is "Real Love" on Heng Shan Road. Similar scenes to Galaxy.

There are numerous bars in town, mostly along HengShan Rd, MaoMing Rd, HuaShan Rd and HuaHai Rd. Again, similar scene to discos.

There are also KTV and night clubs, not my cup of tea.

In general, the girls in those water holes ask for tips just for sitting and chit-chatting with you. Normal rate is RMB200 to 300. If you want to take them home, depending on where they work in, the rate ranges between RMB700-1500.

There are always "good" girls in bars and discos. They only want to make expat friend, hoping that they might get lucky and find themselves expat boy friends / hubbies. Those are for sure free. Just try your luck. However, just remember one thing: those that are free are always the most expensive. hehehe

Personally I prefer the KTVs - just make sure that you go to the larger establishments - your hotel doorman should be able to give you the names.

I was in Shanghai for sometime but prices a little steep.
Go to the pubs area and spend some time there and you will definately get one for free.
Or take a weekend train down to HangZhou. Will cost about RMB55. Take the train from Shanghai Station to HangZhou City Station. There is a whole new area of beauty. Mostly free and those that cost will be cheap. About RMB700 to RMB1000 for a night.
The best KTV in town has 56 rooms a pub with Disco attached and 250 working gals.
Cost for the VIP room min RMB580. Yoou may order food and drinks up to RMB580 included in yoour bill.
Gals in KTV stays with you from 7pm to 3am without leaving your side for RMB300.
I had 3 different gals in Hangzhou within the same week for free. No strings attached. Just fun and enjoy. Important part. Me not handsome. Didn't show them the money as well. Just tag along.

OK in Hangzhou,you should stay at ZhongSan hotel along ZhongSan Zhong Road. Very safe.
If not Wu Yang and Yin Jiang along Qing Chun Road.
The largest and most lux KTV is JinBiHuiHuang min must spend RMB580 if you want a room to yourself. With that amount paid, you may order food and drinks upto the same value without charge.
To pick up art student from the art school, go to NanShan Road, West Town lounge RMB5 for a beer.
If not, in the afternoon or evening go walk along Xihu to pick up part time tour guide or girls taking a stroll. Be brave and you shall be rewarded.
If still no CB luck, Call the hotel beauty palour for a massage and you will get your CB. Don't pay more than RMB400 for a shot. the Palour will charge another RMB50 for every hour the CB spend in your room. So calculate before you make your move.

Go pick up a tour guide at the side of the lake. She will be able to take you to most places in Hangzhou.
No need to rent a car from those people. All cab start with the metre reading RMB10 for the first 10Km.
Cheaper to take cab anywhere than to rent a car.

I don't know your hotel, but in Pudong, you could go to PuJ's at the Grand Hyatt (or Jin Mao Da Sha), it's on the 1st floor on the left when you enter. This place is for Golden collar, and a lot of pretty girls there, some are escorts and can go back with you if they like you (for 2000RMB one night), and some are just looking for ONS.

You can also go to BATS in Shangri-La, a lot of girls there as well.

Otherwise, all the fun is on 'Puxi'. Hongqiao is on the extreme east of Shanghai, so from Pudong, it's about 30 min by taxi.

Another good place is on Maoming Nan Lu, where you have all the bars and Pubs. I recommend you Judy's Too on Thursday evening or week end. Many freelance.

Across Pudong is wai tan. There are a few pubs along the beach and there are nice tour guides you can pick up there.
Hong Qiao about 30-45mins from Pudong depends on Traffic conditions.
Don't like Pudong after bad experience. Stick around in Hong Qiao area. There are so many joints to go.
If you want to have nice chicks and good service, Try Ming Du Cheng condo area at Shui Cheng Nan Road. Near Carrefour.
The sauna there have very friendly chicks and the pub in the condo have live band and good waitress waiting to be picked up.

Another place, not very well known by foreigner is Sui Cheng Lu/Xian Xia Lu (in Hongqiao), this is actually the red light district of Shanghai. Only locals know about this place, and when you walk along the street, you will see many KTV, with pink light color. You will also cross many pretty girls, who are actually workers in the KTV.

For 3 months, you can enrol in a English training school to pick up classmates. Of course u have to pretend u don't speak the language. But not knowing Chinese is a major set back.
Depends on where u stay, I should be able to be some help there.
Spend 3 months in Shanghai and 45 days in Hangzhou another week in Beijing and a week in Wuhan. 2 weeks in Fuzhou and 1 week in Xiamen. There are other places as well. But had the best time in Hangzhou.
For your 3 months stay, I suggest u get a hangzhou girl to stay with u. One hell of a experience. I did!

Thanks for the reminder. I am not sure why this is the HOT period during which the Gong An will come out and earn their keep, as there is no National Event in sight (Again, I might be wrong).

For KTV girl, one short is RMB 1000, and overnight is RMB 2000. Do negotiate, I got a nice one at RMB 2000 for overnight, but the sum included the tips that I am suppose to pay her and also the usual 'Give me RMB 100' for Taxi. After we have spent a night, she gave me a freebie four days later when she came to my place.

Beware of cons also. Xian Xia Lu, as one brother has pointed out, is a good place to Cheong. There are many KTC joints.

My preferred one is Wall Street Night Club at 6F Grand Gateway, No.1 Hong Qiao Lu, (Tel: 64079456), Mamasam Li Jie is quite friendly. Got a gem there for a night (RMB 1000), and she decided to stay as it was very late (or early in the morning - 4.00 am) on her request.

Another place that has about 400-500 girls is Golden magnolia at No. 1 Dapu Road. Quite X but the quality of girls is good. Warning, I have met a fair share of Singaporeans there, so beware!

In Shanghai, if you want to bring a girl back, please ask the Mamasan to parade those who are willing to go back with you. Many girls do not like to go back with clients (alamak, those are usually the better ones...). Sorry that I was not clear on what I meant by 2nd class. I agree that the girls will politely watching and even take part in the conversation when we chat with the angmo. The girl staying with him for 3 nights, there should not be a problem if you bring the girl in before 11. pm (9 p.m.??), and she does not loiter around in the hotel.

In some 5 star hotels, if you bring in the girl after 11 p.m., and you do not act 'ya ya', the security guards may take no notice of you. It depends on the period of the years and sometimes lucks. Usually, in 5 star hotels, there are less problems. I have been very lucky with bring girls back to hotel so far even during 2.00 am in the morning.

As far as Four Seasons Hotel which is located at Wei Hai Road, Shi Men Yi Road, it is a newly opened 5-stars hotel late last year, being which there is NO massage service provision there as yet.

However, alternatively, you can always patronise places like Honh Kong City or Macau City which are massage parlours solely catering to massages and 'more'........(refer to earlier postings by fellow cheongsters for details.)

Also, a word of advice, as far as 5-stars hotel is concerned, in particular referring to Four Seasons which was just opened, dun try your luck to bring any gals or 'hanky-panky' there cause they are very particualr of their image and u might NOT know what u will get yourself into hence it is your maiden trip to China as well!

Found out that Four Seasons Hotel only provide clean massage i.e. strictly male masseur for male customer. Very sian liao.

So, quickly refer to the recommendation here and visited Macau City for massage and here is the FR:

Name: No. 77
Face: 7/10
Body: 8/10 (35D at least, I luv big boobs)
BM/Cat Bath: 9/10 (she will ticker your ass with her finger too)

For the family, you can try the Bund at night. Its beautiful. You can also check out the tourist restuarant across the river, believe its called Sea Dragon. Its actually a big boat moored along the riverbank. From here, you can see across to Puxi nightlights. Another place is of course the Grand Hyatt hotel chinese rest on 55 floor. You can see the entire Puxi and Pudong area, but make reservation otherwise no window seats.

For shopping, beisde Xiang Yang, theres the Nanjing Mall near the Bund, Old Shanghai town Yuyuan, Huai Hai Road and Xujiahui shopping areas. All tourist areas.

For nightlife, Heng Shan Road is full of makan place and pubs...etc

Don't your time in KTV if you cannot bring girl back. Try the sauna like HK City at Sichuan Road, expensive, about 800 to 1,000 for 2 hr massage with HJ, suana facilities, free snacks. Want clean massage, walk around, plenty around for 120 to 250 RMB for 1 to 2 hrs. Barber shops also have massage but massage with own clothes on. Since your post helped me a lot in Jakarta, it's now my turn. I lived in Shanghai for several year, so I know the place very well.

1) For restaurant, I recommend you "Xintiandi" (or New Heaven), normally all taxi drivers know about it. It's on the street Taicang Lu / Madang lu. The place is nice for family promenade, and there are every kind of restaurant: Hongkonese, Shanghainese, Brazilian, European, French... It's also a good place to have a drink with friends, since there are disco, bar... It has been built one year and half ago, and the whole location is like the interior of a big castle. Your family and you should not miss it!
Also Hengshan Lu is nice, with many restaurant and bar there, but I still prefer Xintiandi.

2) Places to visit with family:
- the Bund (or called Waitan)
- Yuyuan garden

3) To have drink with friends while looking at chicks, I recommend you California (or also called Park97), it's inside the Fuxing Park (Fuxing Gong uen). Just for your information, there is 2 entrance in Fuxing park. So tell the taxi driver to enter from the back, from the street Gao Lan lu. Sometimes, they don't know about it, so they might take you from the front entrance, and you'll have to walk a bit (5 minutes). This bar/disco is from HongKong, very trendy and kind of high class. So chicks are also high class!
You also have karaoke on the second floor!

3) Adulf stuff: you can go to Xian Xia lu/ Suicheng Lu, arriving there, just follow the lights. There are plenty of KTV there, and I recommend you Stardust where hostess are gorgeous. But you cannot bring back.

Whenever I had visitors, I always took them at these place, and they have never been disappointed.

As for the best time to go to Shanghai:
- July/August: Very hot and humid!

I think the best time is September/October when the weather starts to cool down.

As with rgds to your queries, room rates are subjective here depending on individual KTVs.....

However, most of them charge a minimum spending amount, for example i.e. RMB 1,200 for a KTV room for 4-5 pax inclusive of a bottle of Martell or Hennessy VSOP, fruits, towels, etc.
Should u order more and end up exceeding this amount, pay the difference on top of the RMB1,200. Otherwise, even if u will to order merely beer, u still will be charged at min. RMB1,200 for the night.

The rates of the PROs are pretty standard as well. Minimum tips per gal is at RMB300. However, not all PROs are available for 'take-away' session bro. Do highlight to mama-san in advance that u require 'take-away' gals, only then she will bring gals that are willing to follow u go home.........rates are RMB1,000(short-time), overnight are ranging at RMB1,500 approx.

What can I say. Did not manage to score when I was in Shanghai last week.

Went to BATS, Judy's Too, my hotel's bar.... all dead man. Either I'm damn unluck, or it's a week night + world cup.

I even went to Galaxy, got this real pretty girl to sit with me. Wah lao that's it, just sit with me and chat and play dice. Want to bring her back she say cannot because gong an check! I was at BATS on the evening I arrived as I was staying in Shangri-la. I was with a girl so no one approach me but I did see some girls approaching some chinese man.

Overall, the quality of girls in BATS is lousy. It cannot be compared to the girls I saw in the KTV than SGP bought us to. Those I saw in the KTV really nose bleed case and I'm not talking about just a handful! I could now understand the term: spoilt for choices.

Didn't intend to make u die from regret.

That KTV outting cost us RMB 700 each because there were only 3 of us. If u had come along, we would have paid about RMB 500 plus each. The more people the lower the cost. In fact we only manage to finish about half the bottle - SGP, u better go back and finish off the balance.

The tips for the girl (who will accompany u the entire night) is minmum RMB 300. As mentioned by Pu Ton Ren, I didn't book any girl as I had my own so my demage was only RMB 700.

You're right in not going to KTV on your own, it would have cost you a bomb! - about RMB 2300 minmum.

No worries, there's always another time.

There is one TianShangRenJian in almost every big city. I know the one in Beijing pretty well. It was a fun place where you could really find very very pretty chinese ladies. I remembered having seen some of them came to work driving expensive cars. The standard has since dropped. I have stopped going there for the past one year during my monthly trip in Beijing.

You pay RMB 120 (I think) to enter the joint, which entitles you to one free drink. After you have entered the place, you will be surrounded by girls (The ratio of Girls/Men was used to be 3 to 1), each asking you to buy her drink and sit down with you. Okay, you pick one, and she sits down, you buy her a drink, and you two start talking, blah...blah..... When you leave the place, you would have to give her tip of about RMB 300- 500 (for not doing anything with her, but talking). What a waste of time and money if you are in for something. You may talk to her about extra services during the next day, and the asking rate can be as high as RMB3000 (Do not go for this unless she is coated with gold), you can negotiate. The most I have paid was RMB 1200 with a dinner thrown in for her. In the old Sammyboy forum, there had been many FRs on how they get freebies from these girls. Trust me, maybe one in a thousand (if not ten thousand) amongst the cases reported in the FRs is true (unless you are very very handsome, or any reason that the girl really likes you).

On the whole, if you want to bed a chinese lady, this is not the place. There are so many KTV's, bars and private joints in Beijing, why go for this one. There are other three establishments like TianShangRenJian in Beijing. I have been to all of them, and they operate in about the same way.

The place u mentioned is at Xian Xia Roda, near Hong Qiao area. It is a pretty ok place, not too bad but nothing spectacular in terms of gals there. One man's meat is another man's poison lah...........normal place lah..............

I'm sorry to hear that. YMM Depends on which Mamasan and how often she/they have seen you. There are girls in every club that try to take advantage of the customers and you just have to be careful. Make sure you go with one of the local friend so they won't try the bs. But from my previous experiences, Galaxy doesn't suck that bad. Maybe your friends were unlucky and did some no-no (showing off or wearing heavy jewelrys)... I dunno know but non of my friends had any experiences that you mentioned.

Think Bro Dragon's experience could be a one-off. Galaxy is a good place for a beer and also to watch the ladies. However, if you do spot one you like, better signal her over cos she might be taken the very next moment. The only bad experience I had there was this young thing that I really liked (aged 19) but no matter how I tried, no success in getting her back to my hotel - she said she had a boyfriend and that she was just making some sitting $$ at Galaxy. I think I could have managed to get her in the sack if I had another day or two but unfortunately I had to leave the next day. That said, expect for this incident, I have had successes at this joint. Jin Mao Grand Hyatt, if I am not wrong, it is in Pudong area, where actions are not as much as in PuXi.

About bringing a girl back after midnight, it all depends on luck. However, the hotel being a 5 stars, chances are they will close one eye, unless it is during the 'Hot' period such as around National Day of China.

Golden Magnolia is also my favourite hangout. Unless you know the Mamasan well, or I doubt they would send a girl to your Hotel. What we do normally is to go to the KTV where you get the choose the girl. Get her phone number, and make appointment with her on the next day. In this case, she does not need to give a cut to the Mamasan.

It is not advisable to bring the gal to your room in particular that u r putting at JinMao Grand Hyatt, Pudong which is a 5-Star hotel. I am lucky to be put up always at a 5 Star hotel. I did not, and still do not have any problem in bringing girls back to the hotels that I stayed. To be sure, why not bring her in before the stipulated 10.30 pm or 11.00 pm (in some cases) curfew time. In fact, the girls feel safer and hence more willing to come to your place if you are staying in a 5 Star Hotel. At least, that was my experience.

If I may also add my 2 cents worth......

At the end of the day, its all down to what the final objective is and more importantly and how much time (not to mention $$$ - in case a freebie is not in sight) you have on hand whilst in Shanghai (or any other PRC city for that matter).

If you are on business and have only 2 nights and would like a PRC chick to share your bed with, suggest then you head for one of the KTVs and make your intention known to the mamasan from the start - it might cost you anywhere between RMB1000-2500 (excluding KTV charges as you pay the girl direct which she will then give the mamasan a cut of circa 20% or more - if you broker without the mamasan, then she keeps the whole lot) but you are sure to have your wild oats sowed for that night. Alternatively, as another bro mentioned, you can try the FLs at Fuxingpark (California or 97 disco) or XinTianTi or PuJs (Grand Hyatt). I was quite successful at PuJs in picking up a top notch beauty.

If you have a couple of nights to spare, then you have to do your homework in advance i.e. before you get there. The objective is to look for a freebie. Not all KTV chicks are pros - you can actually find some very nice gems. I personally found one at Kiss Me KTV (basement of JC Mandarin). She was the hottest chick there but could not be bought. Jazz Bro, My apologies - I should have further clarify myself on the RMB1000-2500 scale I mentioned. I only forked out RMB2500 once in all my numerous trips to SHA and that was to a model who was introduced to me by a friend's friend. That RMB2500 was however very worth it - she accompanied me for the next 2 days until I left - but I did leave her the rest of my RMB (Abt 1000) at the airport.

Got this gal from Szechuan and looks more Thai/Malay than Chinese. Good performance but she wasn't my type in terms of looks, so it was quite a disappointment. I'm told by the girl the place is very safe to cheong without worries of surprise raids (they got connections).

Go up to 2nd Level where the happenings is. But do remember one important thing, "Don't ever sit on the sofa couches!" Why u may ask? Bcuz, the rule is that whoever sits on the sofa, there's a minimum spending amount of RMB200 yuan for 2 - 3 drinks! A stupid rule & a bloody "rip-off"!
Just hang around the bar counter upon entering, u wil see gals with name tags behind the bar serving. They r there to both serve & chit-chat with customers. At about 9.30pm, there are 3 lady dancers performing behind the bar (the bar is round shape, a elevated satge in the center). I must sayit is indeed quite enlightening for a change to gals dancing infront, above your eyes level! Almost like what we have at The Roar, Cairnhill Place previously.

Been to Hangzhou about 3 wks ago. I went to Stargate KTV. It is a KTV + Disco + Live performance venue. Been told is the best in Hangzhou. Cost for a KTV room is 800RMB (min charge). The room could hold 4 person (+ 4 gals) comfortable. Gal selection is good. Cost for seating table is 300RMB. Don't know take out charge but been told to get the gal mobile and call her after the KTV sesssion. This would make the gal more happy bc she would pocket the entire sum.

From what I have been told B4 as well as encountered in person, I think it is pretty safe to be Equatorial Hotel with "take-aways" as the hotel surrounding is kinda "open" with many entrances & exits from all directions, and most of all it is by the Yan An main road, next to yan An Viaduct. Being in such a strategic location, kinda easy to access from all directions.
But there again, don't based my words alone, recce the plce your self further.

Back from Shanghai after two weeks rendevous.
There are many discussions on Shanghai, and the spending is high as describe in most discussions here. My friends bought me to this city called Tai Cang which is also in Jiang Su state, and is about one hour drive from Shanghai.

We arrived at 3.00pm in Tai Cang and visited this private club. The reason is we will not get the Gong-an spot checked. There are about 30 girls to choose from ranging from 16 yo to 24 yo. Tips is 100 rmb. and 1 shot is 300 rmb. Managed to get my girl back to my hotel for 600 rmb for 3 shots.

Next day, we proceed to another place in Liu He Town about half an hour drive from Tai Cang City. This is even further from Shanghai, but we noticed alot of Shanghai registered cars in this town. I was told that the security is more relax than Tai Cang. We hop into a KTV called Tian Fei Music Lounge and tips is also 100 rmb, but the girls are a bit shy and can notice that most are waiting for opportunities to go to Shanghai. One shot is 200 rmb but tips her another 50 rmb because I tore her spaghetti strip during the action.

Overall damage for the 2 days are (600, one night +250, one shot +200, KTV drinks) = 1000 rmb. Cannot get this type of bargain in Shanghai.

Will go again to Shanghai in early November. Hope to take some photos this time round.

Other than the KTV actions, I find these interesting too.

1) Hair Saloon - 10 rmb for hair wash with dig ears, shoulder and back massage. This is equivalent to $2.50, where to find.

2) Massage - 30 rmb in private room. can touch here touch there but no sex cos' the door cannot be lock. Anyway, my girl is not pretty so didn't ask for special service. Saw some real chio one, ask the boss and confirmed can do massage also.

3) Wash legs - 15 rmb. Never try so no FR.

Overall, find the place good value for money.
PS. The taxi will costs about 120 rmb to get from Shanghai to Tai Cang or Liu He.

That was not cheap. Once went to the KTV at Gan Yuan Hotel alone, just 300 rmb.

Probably more enjoyment to visit "Xin HuaiHai Yu Le Cheng" mentioned earlier in the thread.

There is also some cheap 50 rmb massage near mao min lu. Don't exactly know the location.

After the late terrorist incident at our neighbouring country, China ger had a hard-time going to Sing too, so they came to KL...Many came to KL as "student" status and do partiming .

U can find lots of fine,choice, qlty Chn-birds at SUBARU (KL) - just at the back portion of KL Plaza, Jln Bukit Bintang ( next to Marriott Htl).
About 200+ birds on any given nite.

Choices ranging from Beijing,Shanghai to Harbin,Juo Hai...etc.
Tea-dance (4pm - 9pm), is butterfly systm..pay tips only. If u wan to book any, will cost u RM300 (the full tea-dnc session)./ger
Nite session(9pm-2am) full. cost - RM550! /ger

Never heard of Pacific Hotel, but in Nanjing West Road, you have easy access to many places with action.

For cheap drinking + inexpensive hooker pickup (600-1000 RMB), try Maoming Road stretch of bars (Manhattan, Woodstock or Judy's too) or Julu Road stretch of bars (Flashback, D'Bar or Goodfellas). If you pay more than

For not-so-cheap drinking + costlier hooker pickup (1000-1500 RMB), try Hard Rock Cafe beside Ritz Carlton, Bar at Sofitel Hyland at Nanjing Road walking street or just hang around at lobby lounge at Equatorial Hotel located beside the Hilton.

Plenty of KTVs along Nanjing West Road and just specify the type of girls and activities you want with the mamasan prior to selection. Also check prices first.

Don't count on freebies because that takes time, if time is what you are short of. And also don't go with any pimps walking the streets.

I've been in Shanghai over a year now and many posts here are credible and urge you to check them out if you have time.

I'm back in Singapore now. Had a real tiring trip this time round. Was in Beijing, hangzhou & Shanghai...all in freaking 8 days man! Tried all mode of transportation literally except bicycyle & boat....
Also, partly due to the numerous shagging I had with my gals there....got a newly "accuired" gal this time round....hhmmm...damn nice to cuddle with though....& damn bloody gal fren kinda....being treated like a "Emperor" by her...buy breakfast every morning for me....damn sayang me man!

My 1st trip in Hangzhou but I must say we all should organise a trip for us the Shanghai Samsters Alumni to visit there....damn happening man! The place is literally "crawling" with chicks. And damn "chio bu" man.....alot prettier than the snobbish & arrogant chicks in Shanghai!
All thanks & greatest gratitute to our Shagman69 bro who organised this trip, o top of which all accomodation & meals paid for by the Hangzhou City Government. Found a 24hr massage saloon at 17-19 Sheng Ping street (¡•½ŠX) off Maoming Bei Road (–Î–¼–k˜H)

Rate is 50 RMB per session. (c.f. 120++ per session in hotels).
Open concept kinda of place, with low partitions. (Then again, there is 10 RMB massage outside SH... :P)

Did not check on extra services that night, probably would only want to arrange for outings rather that remain there for such actions...

Like I mentioned earlier, will have to be back In Shanghai, Beijing latest by end this month, and it's gonna be afew weeks stay there to sort matters out, clinched afew deals before returning home again perhaps mid December time. As this is your 1st trip to SHA, it is more advisable not to "thread water" so deep into "door to door " delivery services...especially u r putting at Peace Hotel, a state-owned hotel, security kinda tight & very centrally located therefore alot of Police around that area, The Bund. Not advisable.

I'm not sure where u got the stats from but I felt pretty safe in Shanghai as compared to many other places I've been to (including developed regions like North America and Europe). Of course being Singaporean we tend to take things for granted and expect the same level of security as in Sin.

Just note the normal such as not leaving your baggages unattended, keep your money in different places, have your wallet in your front pocket, leave your passport in the hotel safe and don't flash your cash.

Most hotels have HCs. I like the one at Guan Dah.

Will be travelling to Shanghai late December. Used to stay at Xin Jinjiang Hotel but wanna change of scenery. Any recommendations of resonable hotel to stay? Of course must be able to bring back gal without problem.:) Heard of the Somerset apartment. Any good? Please advice.

Somerset is good 'cause of the location and "safety" - I paid US$ 90 for a single bed room apartment and they gave me a 3 bed room! Can bonk in different room each night - hahaha. U can book through their web site at www.the-ascott.com or email the AGM Yip Hoong Mun (he's Malaysian) at [email protected]
