An honorable member of the Coffee Shop Has Just Posted the Following:
SINGAPORE: Police have arrested a 22-year-old female tertiary student who allegedly sold forged medical certificates to other students. The other students are understood to be from secondary schools in eastern Singapore.
The students who bought the certificates submitted them to their respective schools to skip classes.
The students had contacted the suspect through social media, and arranged to meet her to buy the forged certificates, which had letterheads of legitimate clinics fraudulently printed on.
The forgeries were detected when a school teacher became suspicious and did checks with the respective clinics.
The suspect was arrested on May 22 in Ang Mo Kio, and a stack of forged certificates was also found in her house and seized.
Investigations show that the suspect had sold certificates to at least 30 students between March and May 2013.
