SPY HUB!! COOL!!
Booz Allen Hamilton sets up shop in Singapore
Consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton has announced the opening of a Singapore office to serve as a hub for the firm’s operations in Southeast Asia. This follows the expansion late last year of the firm’s Abu Dhabi office as a hub for the Middle East North Africa (MENA) region.
“Booz Allen Hamilton is very pleased to begin serving clients in Singapore. The nation’s business-friendly operating environment and central location make it an ideal place in which to expand our firm’s global presence,” said Mike Jones, the company’s executive vice president.
The Singapore hub will initially be staffed by a small team, with a long-term plan to scale consistent with the firm’s goal of achieving an employee mix that contains a majority of nationals of the country wherein the office is based, the company said.
“There’s a tremendous impetus in Singapore, and across the region, to use data analytics to enhance overall efficiency, especially around transportation, energy, health care, and water and waste; reduce costs and resource consumption, and engage more effectively across the public and private sectors,” explained the firm’s senior vice president Don Pressley, who oversees the Singapore office.
“One example of that is the Government of Singapore’s ongoing Smart Nation programme, but it’s something we are seeing across sectors.”
The company is in the midst of a transformation as it crosses its 100th anniversary, and it recently adopted a long-range strategy called “Vision 2020.”
As part of this, it has announced several new products, such as an interactive, web-based training course for programmers, mathematicians, and other technical professionals; as well as highly predictive intelligence about cyber-attacks.
