Yes I have done it before and it is actually quite easy if you know how to identify them. Speaking abit of basic Viet also goes a long way. Follow Etanboy's instructions and there shouldnt be any problems.

Most of the hotels in my list provide free wifi...knew that Nhat Ha Hotel and Sophia Hotel has good wifi...
Bro hurricane88, i think after seeing the forums post mentioned about certain chinese restaurant that got sell hk style dim sum in the morning, think will go there to try loh....as long as quite ok and not more exp than singapore will do....
by the way, the list u provide the hotels provide free wifi is at the lobby or in the hotel room? i dont want when i need to use the internet for work purpose,have to rush to the lobby to get the free wifi (when i novotel in batam did this)
another 8 days and off i go to vietnam to find that particular girl...
hope everything is ok again...cos that time she sms me says her mum sick she cannot come on 20th to fetch me at airport...dont know this time will same act again anot

Ai yo sure wifi everywhere la...even in your room and toilet if signal strong enough...wifi is widely available in most of the cafe too...alot of times i am reading and posting using my n95 phone...also msn with frens too while enjoying my cuppa...enjoy yourself ok...wish you lucky or chuc may manh...
