Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
So it's Wanda Metropolitano Redux!
Tough tie, but this is a relatively new team without the experience of Godin, Gabi, Juanfran etc. They are also not the same without Griezmann. Felix still has a long way to go. Morata is playing better than he did at Chelsea though. Also Atletico have a very savvy manager in Simeone of course, but he plays a distinct style. 1st leg is going to be massive. Defensively they are still one of the best teams in Europe and will definitely set up to spoil the game. Atletico will play like Napoli did - restrict our space to operate on the flanks and flood our midfield. It will be tight, very ugly man marking. Hopefully Fabinho should be back by then which will be an advantage, but I really think that its players like Keita, Origi, Shaqiri and Minimino that might provide us with the X factor. Also, Matip is huge for us in Europe, so hope he can get back soon as well. A good ref is crucial for both ties. Someone who doesn't fall for Atletico's tricks! Couple of other very tasty ties in the draw as well! |

https://www.skysports.com/football/n...ys-paul-merson Any manager including Klopp and Gaurdiola will struggle in Arsenal now. Arsenal problem stems from players and top management. Carlo Ancelotti knew that. All the Arsenal legends knew that besides Freddie Ljungberg.

I think Arsenal needs a tough guy like Sam Allardyce but they would never take him..
Frankly, after the way they treated Arsene Wenger, they deserve all the shit they are getting now. Lucky they are still in the top 10(barely). Best lesson for their top management..

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Apparently a brave and relatively good performance from our kids(literally!) against a proper PL side away, so no shame whatsoever notwithstanding the 5-0 scoreline and a great learning experience for all of them.
Just looking at the Stats it would appear that our young lads did pretty well. TEAM STATS Villa Liverpool 11 Shots 15 8 Shots on target 8 42% Possession 58% 469 Passes 637 83% Pass accuracy 86% 4 Fouls 8 0 Yellow cards 1 0 Red cards 0 5 Offsides 1 2 Corners 7 Think if Brewster or Glatzel were not injured and playing we might have nicked one or two at at least. Looks like Elliot was outstanding and if he works hard and keeps fit, we might have a first XI starter in 18 months or even less(the lad is still only 16 years old at the moment). Seems like Hoever had a very good game as well, so another promising consistent youngster in the making. But apparently Keheller and Van Den Berg were disappointing. Hopefully they can improve. Finally props to John Terry and Dean Smith for going to the away dressing room at the end of the game to give our lads some words of encouragement. Class act the both of them. |

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Disappointing performance from the youngsters last night.. Despite having 60% possession, they couldn't create much clear chances n finishing was poor. Defence was bad also. What Villa did was just sit n wait for a defensive mistake n they would pounced on it n scored. Not that I was expecting a win though but I thought the youngsters would have put up a better fight!
