Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
First league points in Feb plus a clean sheet, lovely.
Was getting depressed when I first saw the team sheet; no Kelleher, Jota or Davies. Had no clue who Jakub and Hughes were. Rumours running rife that Jota suspected down with appendicitis. Fortunately Klopp clarified at the post match presser that both Fabinho and Jota should be ok for Thursday's match against Chelsea(fingers crossed). Great to see Curtis Jones maturing into a very important player for us so soon and a scouser to boot. So nice of Curtis to mention Alisson's late father after the game as well, smashing lad. Shout out to Adrian, was solid. A nice reminder of how important he was to us during the first part of last season. Has to be Fabinho and Phillips at the back against Chelsea though. I know I have said previously to give Kabak a chance but unfortunately I think Thursday's match might be just too much for him. Chelsea could tear Kabak to shreds. He seems to be running in slow motion at times. Speed of Chelsea's attack could be asking too much of Nat and Ozan together. Finally let us just continue to take it game by game from now on and not get distracted by anything else. We just have to look at ourselves and see where this shall eventually take us at the end of this most challenging and bizarre of seasons that I have seen us in. |

How was the match last night? Whoever watched... did we play well? I read from fan comments that we did not play well. The result is good but was it really the same recent type of performance? Seems like Kabak... did not have a good game.

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Performance was very average only. It seems the front 3 strikers are totally out of form especially Mane. They had their chances but couldn't finished it off. Firmino's goal was quite lucky also. Kabak is simply not up to par, find him slow n clumsy. The only thing is the 2-0 result which could be a morale booster.

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
saw the highlights below. if we took our chances in the first half we would have been 3 up easily.
anyway 3 points is a confidence booster. next match against Chelsea will be tough. i smell Klopp is keeping Fabinho and Jota fresh for the Chelsea game. |

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Just heard Liverpool legend Ian St John passed away.
Before my time under Shankly but read a lot about him and grew up watching him on the Saint and Greavsie tv show; which was brilliant back in the day, sort of a precursor to the likes of Richard Keys and Andy Gray on the telly today. Greavsie being the legendary Spurs and England striker Jimmy Greaves. RIP Saint YNWA |

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
i'm rooting for a tough Liverpool win against Chelsea on Friday morning 4.15am.
a lot depends on our lineup at the back, middle and front. hope our players like Alisson, Fabinho, Jota can appear in the lineup. https://www.thisisanfield.com/2021/0...orningbriefing Last edited by francined69; 03-03-2021 at 02:25 PM. |

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Not easy for Liverpool to win this game..... Tuchel has tightened Chelsea's defensive strategy and backline. They are tighter now than Mourinho's Chelsea team.
I forsee eirher a low scoring draw game or Chelsea to win by a 1 goal margin. |

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
i hope Klopp have more confidence in his new CBs and plays Fabinho in his favored position. then we can have cover for the CBs against Chelsea attackers.
Predicted lineup against Chelsea. Alisson or Adrian in goal Robertson, Kabak, Philips, TAA at the back (Davies as backup) Fab, Thiago & Gini in midfield (Milner, Ox and Shaq as backup) Mane, Firmino, Salah up front (Jota as backup) Last edited by francined69; 04-03-2021 at 12:17 PM. |
