Apologies for veering off topic but need advise on LB pick up joint. I will be in phuket on 18 to 22 Aug for short break. Beside Tootsie massage, C & D, Soi Katoey, any disco with LB hanging around? Hi Paul.

You already seem to know where the locations in Phuket to find LBs. I have not been to Phuket for a while so I cannot help you first-hand but you may want to try looking at the interactive map of Phuket/Patong Beach which shows LB bars and some discos. I don't know how much you have read or know about the Phuket LB scene. Frequent Phuket quite a bit, do AVOID the LBs along the main street of Soi Bangla, especially in the middle section. They will offer you a low price, but things will take a change once you go into the room. I have been in that situation before, and I resisted their demands for money, the next thing I left the room, I was surrounded by thugs in the backlane.
A Soi Crocodile or Soi Katoey has the most number of LBs, however due to the number of tourists there, they are just interested in making quick bucks. There a few bars in the other Sois which has a few LBs, but as they come and go quick, its difficult to tell exactly which one has got good ones. Also avoid the group of LBs along the main Patong Street about 2 junctions away from Soi Bangla, standing outside of a hotel (can't remember the name) which has a fountain on the outside. They are known for pickpocketing from passerbys when they hug them.

I usually get my LBs through a diifferent way, I hang around the street opposite Soi Bangla (near to Summer Breeze Hotel - Summer Breeze Hotel - The Friendliest Hotel In Patong Beach) after 2am. This where most of the WLs and LBs will make their way to their car pool or where they park their bikes. There are some small pubs there, can grab a seat nearer to the road and watch the parade. So when the main pubs close, they will 'parade' down this lane. I will usually make my move here, by approaching them. Here, its kind of bright so you can have a good view. And the best it you can skip the bar fine and prices can be negotiated at very low. Some of the LBs group themselves in 2s, if you are in for tarma, you can get them to your room together. My best bargain so far - an overnight at the price of a short-time (she offered to stay through the night).
