The initial word out on the streets was that his death was not related to his bars business.

Re: NEW ANGELES CITY (Pampanga, Balibago, Subic and anywhere else in PI)
Most probably related to the recent court cases...... back in 2010 Tim was in the business of selling & leasing condos...... but apparently he did not have title to sell or lease those properties. Several owners sued him and went to court..... my guess is one of them could not wait for the court case to conclude and decided to take matters into his own.

Re: NEW ANGELES CITY (Pampanga, Balibago, Subic and anywhere else in PI)
Well, if you want, I can intro you somebody who can sell the Malacañang Palace too .. or the Coconut palace
Well, I do find semi-comical when foreigners living in PH start to believe stuff they shouldn't believe in. The closest I came to above is an attempt by a Singaporean, living in Cebu, trying to sell off a reasonably large ferry and damn he was convinced it was for sale, since the 'seller' took him on a ship tour, and introduced the captain and all the sundry .. and when I mildly told the SG guy that the ferry is in dire need of dry docking and whole lot of refurbishing, and will not be allowed to operate in any other country as it has a lot of illegal modification etc. etc. (since I know a wee bit about ships etc. etc.. ) the guy sort of went mental implying I am trying to make him loose money .. and with that attitude, I refused to intro any of my connections in Shipping/shop owning .. well, he has been living in PH long enough to even threaten me from entering Cebu .. no kidding .. became 'localised' I guess .. he was pricing the former-NZ rail ferry, but now operating as a top-heavy passenger ferry .. for a 'small' sum of just over 30 million peso .. and I wouldn't be surprised if the ship owners were too in the scam .. CPVictim: you better watch out then BI may find you as an illegal / trafficked person, if they find out that you can't knot a tie ..

Re: NEW ANGELES CITY (Pampanga, Balibago, Subic and anywhere else in PI)
Australian trader ambushed, critical
Published : Monday, July 22, 2013 00:00 Written by : Rudy Abular and Bernard Galang CAMP Olivas, Pampanga -- Police are still clueless on the identities of two armed men who ambushed and critically wounded a wealthy Australian Wednesday night in Bgy. Manibaug, Porac town. For the past five days, the Police Provincial Office led by Senior Supt. Oscar Albayalde encountered difficulty in establishing the identities of the suspects who gunned down Timothy John Wright, 50, single, of 107-A Sofia Street, Josefa Subd., Bgy. Malabanias, Angeles City. “As of the moment, no witnesses have come out to describe the suspects, maybe nobody witnessed the shooting incident,” Albayalde said. He said Wright is the owner of Affinity Hotel and Condominium on Fields Avenue, Bgy. Balibago, Angeles City. The victim was also involved in a construction business. The ambush of Wright has sent a frightening message to other rich foreign nationals who invested their money in putting up huge hotels, condominiums and entertainment clubs in Bgy. Balibago and adjacent areas. One of them, who requested anonymity, said his partners are threatening to pull out their investments for fear of their lives. “They claimed it is not safe anymore to stay in Angeles City,” he said. Wright was among the numbers of foreign businessmen who were killed in Angeles City and Pampanga for the past few years. Their deaths remain unsolved up to the present. Albayalde said the victim was driving a black Chevrolet Cruze LZ (RLF-899) when he was shot by riding-in-tandem assassins before midnight on Wednesday. Police said the suspects got a chance on Wright after he slowed down due to a mild traffic. The victim was heading home after attending a friend’s birthday party when he was ambushed by the suspects. The victim was still under observation, under tight police guard, at the intensive care unit of St. Catherine of Alexandria Medical Center in Angeles City. A SOCO team recovered at the scene six spent shells for cal. .45 pistol. Investigators said the victim had received death threats before he was ambushed. Police are looking at either love triangle, business rivalry or personal grudge as the possible motive behind the attack. |
