Hi everyone, I have read the last few pages of this thread and it seems like everyone is talking about soapies, ktv, etc.

I was wondering if there are any fun clubs, bars, pubs, to go to? Like those normal ones where u just go to drink and enjoy the music and is foreigner friendly (Going with an indian friend). I will be going to taiwan for the first time this December.

Will appreciate any help/hint/advice given.

How normal do you want? There are places where it's strictly hostess style where the girls are there only to keep you company (expensive, girls super hot, will never go home with customer). Then there are places where you have to negotiate with the girl separately (i.e., is totally "normal" and not guaranteed unless she likes you, or you offer boatload 10k+ cash). Then there are places where they shoot handguns 打手槍 on site. All these place good for entertain business clients.

If you don't need to call someone to let them know you're coming it's going to be normal.

The new hip thing is this outdoor place called commune A7 near 101. Think
night market with beer stalls instead of food cart. Totally normal and fun if you go with girlfriend or something. Have games to play and music too.

W hotel has normal bar on 12th floor I think. Just remember if you want a table at any club or bar you have to reserve before hand.

Normal KTV like party world (錢櫃 "money drawer" or "cash box" in Chinese) also OK. Is private room. You bring your own girls. 7k NTD for two bottle or whiskey + 4 hrs of karaoke. Cheaper if depending on bottle and size of room.

Can also go eat hotpot or beef noodle and order taiwan gold label beer too. Very famous and very normal in Taiwan.

Something to share about normal - as in non P4P

Non existent pick up scene in Taipei, sorry to disappoint.

Nice lounges like Brown Sugar and Woo Bar etc, but women in Taiwan are like frigid stepford wives that only think of looking cute (as in OTT), and acting way below their actual ages. It is a very non masculine society so the women tend to be extremely pretentious and overtly saccharine, which gives a sense of irk if you know what I mean.

For English speakers, there are some (not many) international ladies in Taipei who are open for game, but few and far in between. I reckon one needs to look very much like those innate Taiwanese pop idols to score a look in, otherwise modern masculinity is basically frown upon. (Look at the Taiwanese idols and you could probably figure). I would hang out in these places for drinks and good music, and there are some nice clubs like Omnia and that, but scoring and day/night game are pretty much harder than elsewhere. Tw just are not into the whole hospitable and open mindedness when it comes to meeting strangers, random pick up / dates, and stuff like that. Hate to disappoint you , but I reckon it is one of the most frigid Asian cities in terms of sex and gaming.

But nonetheless great city for eats (despite the horrendous economy), music and some great hotels like Hotel Eclat.

I think visually Taiwanese clubs do more of the scanty act well (as in skimpy wear and games) but it is impt to note these are performers and are part of the club get up to get you to spend.

Japan esp Tokyo offers a much more international experience where you really have solid 10s and 9s in places like Womb. Less skimpy but just hot and it has that international club mentality where women go to clubs to get laid and not just act cutesy and needy. Open game in other words, for the adventurous.
