Dear bros, thank so much your kind advice and well wishes.

My gf and I have decided to keep the baby. In fact we have some arguments over this issue for the past few months. She is more determined in having this baby than me. Anyway it is also too late to abort the child.

The next thing is we will be planning our marriage soon. My only concern is we have only known each other for less than 6 months, and we have to live and put up with each other for rest of our life now. Such a drastic change in my life, I really dunno whether it is a blessing in disguise or not.

Logically, your advice makes sense. But in actual fact, both sets of parents will probably urge the 2 of them to get married fast. Whatever you do, you got to remember that you MAY or 90% WILL spend the rest of your life with her. So don't do something mean that will hurt her and cause her to have hatred and resentment to you. Implying the baby isn't yours is suggesting she's a loose woman. That's a big insult for ladies.

What I will suggest is this. When the baby is born, you will normally have 2 weeks to register the birth. For example, a lot of parents take this 2 weeks to find a suitable chinese name (count the strokes lar stuff). During this 2 weeks, quite do a DNA test. Secretly cut some hair from the babies's head (don't hurt baby) and go do a test. If confirm yours, no problem. If not yours, at least your name isn't on the birth certificate. Don't go and listen to people who say baby look like you. Babies who are a few days old all look quite similar.

If you had put your name on the birth cert as the father, even if future DNA tests confirm that the baby isn't yours, you will have to raise the child as the legal father. So if you have doubts, keep it to yourself. Do the test quietly. Your wife doesn't need to know. (not even the results). Don't tell your parents too for they will wonder why you think the baby might not be yours and have a bad view of your wife as a loose woman... Not good for future relations.
