I would say go for PADI . its more internationally recognized .
The courses in singapore generally will have their open water (sea) dives in Pulau tioman .

You dont actually need to find a guy here for security purposes . Go with the class from SG , its fun and you learn more and you get to meet more diving kaki's .

If you take the dive course at any random island , your next thread will be looking for certified divers to travel with ....

Just my 2 cent, there are reputation dive center oversea, so just do some research. No matter whether Padi or SSI or even SDI, all training is base on the instructor experience and training. Padi is not always good but they are more recongise by their marketing.

Diving can make a lot of friends, I always go oversea diving alone then meet new friends and party together.

Yup... Sent in enquiries to some schools I researched on....

But looks like this trip will be delayed...

Period to travel to Boracay is best before June. Hope I am still in time!!

BTW the trip will postponed till June 2014. Things seem to moving slower than I expected. And I have not decided who is going with me, YET.

Also, just to clarify.
I am only looking for someone who is REALLY keen to get the license.
If you don't know how to swim, don't like the sea, no intention of doing dives or getting the license, PLEASE do not PM me and ask to be my companion, just to chillax or play/wade in water.
