Re: Circumcision: my experience
Just Asking, Did all/most bros who undergo laser at hospitals have the same experience as penguinrider?
Cos I went for clamp and knife at a clinic. (I suppose it's considered traditional) And i don't seem to have all these issues. Penguinrider, when u remove gauze, do try to make it wet so it's not so difficult to remove. |

Re: Circumcision: my experience
thx fiddler, great advice. it's so much easier to remove a wet gauze than a sticky gauze.
I can see that there are significant lesser pus on my wound. What took over are clear sticky liquid. These should be sign of repairing process finally starting. however, it is more painful now. water touches wound = ouch. touch the open wound = ouch. walking like a duck now. learnt quite a bit on healing process here http://www.recoveryourlife.com/forum...17&postcount=2 http://www.nursingceu.com/courses/395/index_nceu.html Last edited by penguinrider; 09-12-2012 at 05:55 PM. |

Re: Circumcision: my experience
day 9
almost the same as yesterday. decided not to let my bandage touch the open wound. ill just let the transparent yellowish liquid stay on the wound, and dry up to form scrab. hope this is a wise decision. erection doesn't causes any pain. but washing LJ does. merrygoround: my doc also didn't ask me what type of cut i want. freestyle i guess.... based on his mood |

Re: Circumcision: my experience
day 10
yellowish blackish Scrabs are formed on my wound. nothing to worry about as the flesh around the wounds are of normal color. no sign of swelling flesh and infection. I believe new skin will start forming below the scrabs. i no longer bandage my LJ up. Pain now is when i wash myself and the scrabs got wet. occasional hard scrabs poking my erected flesh. other than that, just discomforted. |

I was circumcised a month ago and the most annoying and painful thing for me was the wound sticking onto my underwear. When your doctor tells you that bandages are no longer necessary, please at least wrap a tissue around the wound and do not attempt to change the tissue dry. Always soak it off in the shower first. Try to hold your cough and sneeze as well. These precautions are to prevent the stitches from ripping apart early, leaving behind gaping raw flesh(wound dehiscence). A few pages back, people were also recommending vitamin C and zinc tablets to aid healing, and to avoid blood thinning foods like coffee. Good luck! |
