I cant speak vietnamese, I dont know all the happening places. I just go back to places that I feel comfortable with. I am just lucky that the people I bing there also like the places.

I usually visit HCM once a month and did consider renting an apartment. The cost of 3 nights in 4-5 stars hotel enough to cover the weekly or monthly rental of service apartment?

eeerrrrrr.......that depends on the hotel. SOmetimes they allow, sometimes they dont. If all else fails, ask the ger. she should know.
THe monthly rental of a service apartment in D1 and outskirts cost about USD$1000 minimum (B4 u claim VAT). the rest are going for about USD$800 (B4 VAT)
Unfortunately, the ger cannot tell me cos she is not a WL.
Anyway, thanks for the tip on service apartment. May consider the service apartment for my next trip.
