Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Warmest welcome! Thou you are not my first choice but none the less I wish you all the luck and success that u can get. First season is always the honeymoon period and I hope the fans will not pass judgement too soon.
What I liked about you is the ability to turn players to play above themselves. I hope you bring that in to a bunch of highly paid players and drill them to be a cohesive unit to put the club before their own. To play with their hearts and souls cause THIS IS ANFIELD! Now, any new sugar daddy soon? |

Hi..
been missing for sometimes.. paiseh.. anyway, really hope Roy delivered what he said - keep the STARS like Gerrard, Torres.. but if the reports that he intending to get Hangeland, who will be playing in the back? Carra, Sktrel, Agger who to sacrifice nia?? and why buy a centre back when one of the so called reasons why Rafa was sacked was for not buying a back up Striker for Torres??? and Gilberto Silva for Mascherano replacement?? gosh.. and return for Danny Murphy? sigh.. seems like a step back for me to Liverpool.. why not used the 25 mil from Mascherano and 6 mil from Benayoun on a good winger? or a good striker in the 25-30 mil bracket?? similar to Bro Bochapsing, hope i will eat my words come next June... |

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Well, it's been confirmed. We are a mid-table team. We chose a mid-table manager to take over Rafa. Honestly, which good manager will come? We got no Champions League, players wanting to leave, no money to buy replacement players, 2 idiots for owners, a huge debt and we are on sale. For once, I've no expectations for the new season, no hoping to win a cup, no reaching the quarter finals of Champions League, no trying to win title 19th etc. Can't remember when was the last time things look so pessimistic. Even during the Souness period, we do believe we can challenge for the title.
May I try to put a positive spin on Roy's appointment? Because he's so old, I think all of us don't see him as a long term manager like Arsene Wenger. It's safe to assume that sooner or later, we will have to find his replacement as Roy reaches his retirement age. That's good for us as we seek new owners. I suppose our new owners will want to appoint their own manager. So if Roy's appointment were to be seen as a short-medium term measure, perhaps it will be easier for us to accept any future changes in manager when the new owners take over.

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
I think that's really unwarranted. His team incidentally went further than us in Europe and has held us to draws at Anfield.
What we need now is a solid manager to pick us up mentally and instil a new sense of self-belief after the disaster last season. Don't shoot the manager before he is even started. He already has a hard task ahead, and I give him credit for giving it a shot and taking a risk with us. Let's not make things harder for him. |

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Barca was dam smart to grab David Villa on the cheap before WC. Villa's definitely 1 of the more outstanding players in this tournie. his finishing was juz superb. cant help but salivate at the prospect of him partnering Torres in Liverpool's attack but too bad, we failed to grab him during the last seasons.
talking abt tfrs, read that 1 of Hodgson's 1st signing will be Hangeland. Not bad lah, he's a towering defender, machiam like Sammi Hyypia's style. Maybe boss-to-be will also bring in his other ex fulham players like Clint Dempsey (i like!) & Damien Duff (didnt Pool try to sign him during 1 of the seasons? Now their wish may come true!) Hmmm ... whoever he signs, pls make sure he does the most important tasks of retaining Gerrard n Torres 1st!!!

Does Liverpool have money to spend? 1 of Roy's condition was that he has cash to deal with.
Already I'm seeing Benayoun to ink Chelsea 5.5m deal. Perhaps a few Fulham potentials could go Liverpool.

[Roy Hodgson has announced the 4 targets he wants to bring to Liverpool. 1) Hangeland 2) Danny Murphy 3) Gilberto Silva 4) Reto Ziegler These four players together with Milan Jovanovic are adequate for his plans to rebuild Liverpool FC. He is very happy after talking with Gerrard and Carragher that these two important pillars of Liverpool share his vision. He intends to have a heart to heart talk with Torres and is confident he can persuade him to stay.][LiverpoolFC fans website] Wah lau eh...... this old man really choosing over the hill players for Liverpool. Like tat how to survive next season? |

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
LIVERPOOL FC’s American owners borrowed “too much” money when they bought the club, the boss of the bank which loaned them the cash has said.
The bulk of the Reds’ £237m is owed to the government-owned Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS). Tom Hicks and George Gillett bought Liverpool from majority shareholder David Moores in 2007 for £219m. But they incorporated their borrowings into the club’s debt and the interest costs have seen the original figure soar. RBS and another lender, Wachovia, were originally expecting £100m to be repayed this summer. But in the spring, they allowed Mr Hicks and Mr Gillett another six months to find a buyer for the club and repay the debt. In an exclusive interview with the ECHO today, RBS chief executive Stephen Hester said before the credit crunch too many businesses, including Liverpool FC, took on too much debt. He said: “With hindsight, I think there are some businesses which borrowed too much money and Liverpool FC was one of them.” what a hypocrite, who approved the loan ? |

http://www.goal.com/en/news/11/trans...n-lucas-leiva? dont think Lucas will leave soon anyhow, think Liverpool also should sell him yet.. with Mascherano's most likely departure, Liverpool midfield only left with Gerrard, Aquilani and youngsters like Jonjo, Spearing and Plessis who havent really played much Premier League games. Lucas would be a good cover for the time being. Even if Roy decides to bring back Dany Murphy, Lucas would still be a decent cover in case Stevie or Aqua got injured. He had played 32+ premier league games and he is still very young, so still can develop further! anyhow, latest rumor is Roy targeting Ashley Young? probably to replace Bennayoun.. sigh.. when can Liverpool buy players to add depth and not to replace leaving ones? hope next seasons see more young kids stepping up.. the likes of David Amoo, Jonjo, Pacheco.. 1 month plus to the start of new season.. |
