Pak, please allow me to correct you... In Batam, when they say 1 ons, they mean 100grams... Therefore, 1kg = 10ons, which means they are selling the prawns at 280rb per kilo

Last year during Ramadan,i ate in this nice cozy & yet affordable restaurant in Nagoya Hill Mall,hehehe...

...hehehe...it closed down. And is now replaced by this one below...

...and due to the trend today that most shopping mall disallow smoking inside it, this new restaurant has something i find quite special...hehehe...

2 guys in the picture were smoking outside the room

...which i dont see much in most air con restaurant. However,i still notice handful of people smoking outside the smoking room tho. No one catch or chase them away anyway.

Almost forget, the De Express restaurant's Menu...

The satay taste no good to me and quite expensive.

...the rest of it seems quite alright,other than the drinks,which is also expensive in my own terms.

Shopping mall food can be relative quite cheap in batam,but do beware of price of their drinks,hehehe....a cup of coffee as of the photo below cost 20k rupiah.

If its 30k rupiah per trip from Harbour Bay to any parts of Nagoya,then no need for bargaining. I might not bother to use Go Car or Grab then (my usual trip from Harbour Bay to my hotel is free but now i have another option).

cos it's in hb ma...not other jetty & i tink hb is private owned & private company usualli tink out of box...if it's 30k vs online taxi's 15k + 3-4x waiting,wich wld u chose? save 10-15k but mus walk extra 5-10 mins 2 other places 2 take online taxis or mayb got chance 2 get into trouble,worth it or no? ....lol

so i tink hb get 2 keep their ori business + mayb even can steal business frm tose gocar or grab or silver cab...lol...win win...but if monopolize,then it;s different story liao.

Just to share with everyone that a new foodcourt has opened in Batam Centre area, nearby KFC Palm Spring and not too far away from the largest Buddhist temple in Batam. Been in operation for about 2 months thereabouts, I reckon.

It’s called Foodcourt 28 (search for Pujasera 28 on Google Maps); I believe it’s opened by the same boss of Foodcourt A2 and J8...



Foodwise, it’s pretty good... Has my favourite satay Pui Ce satay (has outlets in both A2 and J8), and the seafood stalls’ cooking is not bad, much better than J8 in my opinion.

Has a wide variety of food, including Thai mookata, Lok-Lok, Chinese herbal soups, and special mention for the roast duck stall, the roast duck is quite nice.

Worth a try and it’s not as crowded as A2...

i know this might be a weird question but better ask than be sorry. is it recommended for an indian to cheong in Batam? Btw, im of indian descent and not an indian national. had to ask this coz i do hear here and there about indians being not favored . i might be wrong , so just wanna clarify.

30k already reasonable. Normally 60K fm HB taxi booth. So paying half the price. Reasonable leow. No need Grab.
