Dalglish relishing Goodison return September 29, 2011 More than 2 decades aft his last match as Liverpool boss @ Goodison Park, Kenny Dalglish says he is excited abt the prospect of stepping back in2 the lion's den 4 Saturday's Merseyside derby. Liverpool's 4-4 draw with Everton in February 1991 was the final match of Dalglish's 1st tenure as Reds manager, with the Scot quitting his post a couple of days aft the FA Cup clash. 2 decades on & Dalglish, back in the Anfield hotseat, takes Liverpool back 2 Goodison Park 4 the 1st Merseyside derby of the season - hoping tat his side can go 1 step better than they did both in 1991 & earlier tis year, when the 2 clubs shared a 2-2 draw @ Anfield. "The competition is still as intense & the desire 2 win is the same as b4,'' Dalglish said. "I don't think it has devalued - it doesn't matter how long ago it was u hv been involved or not or how recently. "It is a Merseyside derby & like every1 who has been involved in it they think it is the most important 1. But people in Birmingham think theirs is the biggest, Rangers & Celtic think theirs is the biggest - & they r right. "Tis is the biggest 1 becos tis is the 1 I m involved in. There is no point in having a league table of clubs u r not involved with.'' Asked abt his memories of the 4-4 draw @ Goodison Park & the fall-out fr it Dalglish, added: "We've been thru all tat many times b4 & there is no point in revisiting it. "But if we get 4 goals on Saturday I'll be delighted. If we get 4 it will be entertaining but I don't think it will be entertaining 4 the Blue half.'' A number of new faces will get their 1st taste of the Merseyside derby tis weekend & Dalglish has backed Charlie Adam, Jose Enrique, Stewart Downing, Jordan Henderson & January signing Andy Carroll 2 thrive on the occasion. "We know wat a victory in the derby means 2 the people of Liverpool & how much elation the players get fr it," Dalglish said. "There r players who hv not played in it b4 who may play on Saturday but I m sure they understand wat it stands 4.'' "I think the Rangers-Celtic derby has given Charlie a good grounding, Andy has had the north-east derby & Stewart has had Villa-Birmingham - which is not the smallest. They may not hv experienced tis derby but they hv all experienced a derby of some sorts.'' |

Gerrard up for derby clash October 1, 2011 Liverpool talisman Steven Gerrard is excited by the prospect of playing in Saturday's Premier League clash against Everton, describing the Merseyside derby as "the best week of the season". Gerrard returned fr injury in a Carling Cup fixture last month, his 1st appearance 4 the Reds since undergoing a groin operation back in March. The 31-year-old is now keen 2 make up 4 lost time as he steels himself 4 the match against Liverpool's fierce rivals. "I think it's the best week of the season," he told the club's official website. "These r the 2 fav games 4 me with ManU a close 2nd. Becos of the Merseyside rivalry & the buzz you get fr beating them, it's probably my fav game, so I'm looking 4ward 2 it. "We'll just hv 2 wait & see wat Kenny [Dalglish] decides 2 do with the team & whether I'm going 2 be in fr the start or on the bench, but whatever he decides I'll be ready." The England midfielder is expecting a typically gritty affair @ Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon, but has urged his team-mates not 2 become involved in a physical encounter @ the expense of playing their natural game. "It's always tough. Obviously they hv home advantage & so r going 2 hv massive support, but we go there with no fear. "We've got a very good derby record over the years @ Goodison Park, so I don't see why we can't go there with confidence, play our own stuff, not get involved in a fight & I think if we can stay in the game in the 1st 15-20 mins we'll come thru & win it. "We need 2 play without fear. Sometimes in derby games you can get involved in the fight & 4get 2 play. It becomes a battle & a tussle rather than us settling & playing our own game. "We like 2 pass & move, attack quick & stay compact when we haven't got the ball, so if we can settle really quickly in2 the game I'm really confident we can get the right result," said Gerrard. |

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
There are millions and millions of liverpool fans worldwide, not only in 1 country but there are fans in every part of the world.
Meaning to say, there will be millions of different opinions and suggestions from each individual supporters. Even if we are watching the same game at the same place in the same time, it doesnt mean that these people will have the same thoughts on the game. Dont always expect people must have the same thoughts as what he/she thinks. SO long as we always support Liverpool and not being a glory hunter (Whoever wins and support which team) i see all comments and suggestions fair 15mins gone, still 0-0 both sides have equal share of the game

Everton down to 10 men, red card to Rodwell for a challenge to Suarez.

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Kuyt's penalty saved by Howard . Adam hit underside of crossbar . we have about 80 % of possession and still cant score .

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
HT score nil-nil.
3 main highlights of the 1st half - Jack Rodwell's sending off in the 22 min, a penalty awarded 4 a tackle fr Jagielka on Suarez in the 43 min & the resulting penalty by Kuyt saved by Tim Howard. The Reds has 2 make the extra man count ... on the score board. |

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
We have been average despite the one man advantage. Crosses from both sides pretty dismal.
We don't deserve to be in the lead at half-time, albeit Kuyt missing the penalty and Adam crashing the crossbar. Now we know Kuyt is human and shit, how many times must we hit the goal-frame!! |
