Also, please note that the incubation period for HIV virus is anywhere from 6 months to 12 months.

I have good news for those waiting for a cure for HIV. There is an agent which inhibits the ataxia-dependent-mutated (ATM) kinase, a protein essential for human cell replication. The catch is that researchers are not having a race with mutant HIV strains produced everyday which is the key to their eventual resistant to the drug. Since HIV slices into the human genome to intergrate itself, the ATM repairs the cut to ensure the survival of the cell without knowledge of the new virus info added. To inhibit the protein, it will cause the death of the 'damaged' cell and stop the reproduction of new viruses. In this way, we are not fighting the virus which is non-living but the host's living infected cell. Therefore, the end to drug resistant strain maybe close.

The other new advance in cure for HIV is a new drug which is designed to be flexible on the molecular level, so that they can fit into different shapes of the "active pocket" of the reverse transcriptase enzyme, even after that shape changes due to resistance mutations that could make non-flexible molecules ineffective. Hence, one magic pill may be all you need instead of the usual cocktail.

One final note is that these advancements are still on lab stage and to root out HIV from every inch of your body practically is still unknown, so wear your helmets to your rides.

Having HIV certainly does not necessary lead to the development of AIDS. The body maybe too ravaged by the time it reaches AIDS to be 'cured'.

Seeing is believing. You might think your eyes are playing a trick on you. HIV+ people look like you and me. There are no symptoms for HIV+ people until at an advance stage where AIDS start destroying your immunity,

Common symptoms include Psoraisis, Fungi infection, extreme loss of weight and appetite, breathelessness and fever and chills. These are symptoms of advance stage AIDS. If you have seen someone in this stage, anyone would be terrified. Usually for these to happen it takes between 3-7 years to develop these symptoms.

Is it possible for a person who carries the AIDS virus and yet still survive?
Which means the AIDS virus did not do any harm but just lingers in the body only.

The symptoms are not definitive - other diseases exhibit the same symptoms. This is because HIV affects the immune system, so sufferers usually get side-infections such as pneumonia etc. (that's what Malaysia pop star Sudirman died of). No one dies of AIDS, technically speaking, only the other infections.

Since symptoms are not very clear, best thing to do is to go for a checkup.
