aside from birth control pills, there are other contraceptive methods.

iud, injection, birth control patch, etc.

talk to your doctor about your concerns about side effects. i mean, you sound like some kind of asshole who doesn't even care about his wife's well being and her concerns?

obviously your wife doesn't want to get pregnant at this point of time, and there are several detrimental side effects for long term consumption of birth control pills. also, it is not easy to keep up with the cycle of pill popping and you can accidentally miss some doses very easily with a busy work cycle.. which might lead to an unplanned pregnancy.

if there is a form of contraception that doesn't have the side effects she is worried about, and also is not a huge hassle, i'm sure she will be open to the suggestion. therefore, talk to your doctor about your concerns and ask for alternate means of contraception.
