Istana grounds open to the public this Chinese New Year In celebration of Chinese New Year, the Istana grounds will be open to the public on Friday (Feb 20) from 8.30am to 6pm, the President's Office announced on Monday. (Photo: Nadia Jansen Hassan) SINGAPORE: In celebration of Chinese New Year, the Istana grounds will be open to the public on Friday (Feb 20) from 8.30am to 6pm, the President's Office announced in a media release on Monday. Visitors to the grounds will be entertained by various performances by the Nanyang Girls' High School Lion Dance Troupe, Acrobatic Troupe of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, PA Talents and SOKA. Macaws and parrots from the Singapore Bird Park will be on display, while farm goats from Hay Dairies will also be on show. Members of the public can also choose to sign up for the Nature Guided Walk, which showcases the Istana's flora, fauna and biodiversity, or take a guided tour of the Istana main building. GUIDED NATURE WALK AT THE ISTANA The cost of the nature guided walk at the Istana will be S$4 for adult Singaporeans and Permanent Residents. Children will be able to participate in the walk for S$2. TOURING THE ISTANA MAIN BUILDING Entrance into the Istana main building includes tours of the state room, banquet hall and reception room.
