Re: Vietnam - HCM
Wah what a crazy May Day weekend - the rain flooded most of Saigon and the roadworks for the power cables meant it was difficult to get anywhere. But I managed to go to Velvet, Lush, Gossip, Seventeen, Apocalypse and my favorite Go To. The last was the best one for girls - not only professional Viet girls but caucasians looking for some pocket money and a good time. First night had a skinny viet girl from there which was SOP but the second night I had a great girl from Go To - really close to GFE (Frenching/BBBJ/Great FJ) and did her twice. Go To is an after hours place so after Lush and the others are closed its then great to head there as its open to early hours (I left at 4.30 am). Out of the others I like Lush - great music and lots of fun (no professionalst though). Gossip though is full of girls to take out but the techno beat is a bit much - just make sure if you take one out they have ID or the hotels can be quite sticky.

its a normal club or those u have to pay bar fine or those which got PRs? thanks Personally, my favourite is 97 (i dunno how to spell the address something like ngyuen thi minh khai but u tell the cabbies 97 / d&d mostly they will know), as the music and laser is superb. The girls who cheong there are mostly viet students who came back from overseas studying/working so alot of them can speak better english / well dressed. So u can communicate the girls better. And the henessy promoters there are very pretty. Minus point about there is that there's alot of stuck up ppl / hao lian viet kuis just because they are richer and more educated, and the managers got poor services. Costs of drinks are on high end based on my personal gauge. 1 Bot Martell with mixer and fruits will costs about SGD $200. |

You seemed to assume it'd be more work for the moderator because it multiplies the number of threads. Not exactly. This thread continues perpetually. If there were more threads doing that (KTV, Massage, etc.) yes it would be more work because they also would continue perpetually. But with more specific user-created topic threads, they wouldn't. The topics would finish after a number of posts, peter out. New threads would be posted, and they'd eventually die out. Only rare ones would continue for a long time. If there's more total posts as a result, that means more page visits and more $$$ for Sammy. It's the kind of work he should like to get. I think this HCM thread has outgrown this single rolling thread format, and I think the strong tendency here toward chat drives some (maybe most) away. It's great for the insiders, and bad for everyone else. And you don't see those everyone else people posting here because, well, they probably come, look, leave and don't come back. Is that what you want? If there were more people coming, we'd actually be hearing about more places worth checking out than we now do, getting more fresh topics to discuss, etc. Fresh blood is a good thing for everyone. I think if specific threads were allowed, this section would quickly grow, and that would be good for everyone. Just to make sure I'm not taken the wrong way -- I do think it's great and cool that you guys have this scene. I dont' mean to knock that. Its the heart and soul of this thread. I'm just saying, this section could be so much more. Right now, this thread probably doesn't have enough interesting material mixed into it to make it worthwile for anyone other than the insiders. I think the current format prevents this section from becoming what it should be. It should be more than just insider chat. |

Also no barfine at Go bar -- that one is in the heart of the backpacker district, corner of De Tham and Bui Vien streets, very noticeable. There is an upstairs level where they have dancing, downstairs is a bar with some tables and also pool tables. I dont' think they have PR's at these places. |

2 Ly Tu Truong D1. Place has alot of Expat Kids. Go To is actually GO 2 187 De Tham D1. As mentioned located in the heart of the Pack Packer Area. because of the nature of the crowd, the FLs tend to lean towards the "OTHER" end of the scale. The upstairs area is actually a disco and strangely, if you are local, you cant get in after midnight. You are more than welcome to drink yourselves silly downstairs but if you are local, you cant go up after midnight. |

Re: Vietnam - HCM
i am thinking going to Ho Chi Minh at end of the month, my friend holding a China passport is going with me as tourist. Googled for information, but the visa requirements for him seems confusing. Read on some sites that china passport is visa-exempted,some say its visa on arrival.
Does any kind person here know if he needs a visa? |

Vietnam latest news - Thanh Nien Daily
Taxi driver caught using remote control to up fares If you find your taxi fare jumps very fast, this may be the case Info for bro who are 1st time in HCMC or never notice. There is a taxi stand on the left hand side after you come out of Arrival Hall of TSN airport. There is no need to feel pressure from the taxi tout and bargain the fare anymore. Those taxi at the taxi stand runs the fare by the meter. About VND80,000 from TSN to Cho Ben Thanh area. |
