Well said. Sex and zen 3d, 33d invaders and Journey to the West really felt like a resurgence for Cat 3 movies at that time. It was promising but ultimately fizzled out due to the rise of streaming and content such as madou / korean softcore movies. I think an equivalent to Cat 3 movies now are those from the Philippines.

As you can see, alot of the mentioned Cat 3 movies from 2010 to 2015 are the abovementioned ones. The rest are actually horror / violence. I also highly recommend Naked Ambition and Forbidden Legend Sex and Chopsticks for the modern titles since I don't see many in this thread talking about it. Both have good use of JAV actresses, although I thought Naked Ambition was a bit playing too safe.

Cat 3 movies are dead in HK because of Motherland control. Almost all movies and dramas made in HK and China are about singing the greatness of the Chinese.

Few years back there were a lot of dramas about palace fighting. Now also gone because of the controls.

The thing about Madou stuff is that, it likes to show 2 people doing it, or the faces of people doing it, as opposed to more time showing the money shots.
A lot of times, it feels like watching softcore, until the shots goes to the genitalia action for a bit.
