(1) Is it better to take crisp USD $ 100 notes VERSUS SGD $ 1,000 notes for best rates for cash IDR exchange in Jakarta ??

(2) is the rate at Arcade money changers in Raffles Place about the same as in Jakarta money changers ?

(3) What is the best place to get best rates for IDR in Jakarta ? Shopping Mall ? Airport ? Hotel ?

It makes no difference. So long as your cash is real, they will offer you their best rate.

Change your money in the country of destination. I tend to get better RM rates in KL and better Rps rates in Jakarta

Shop around in the malls such as Plaza Indonesia but usually I can get good rates at the airport money changers just after I clear customs. Right now, you should be looking for a bid/offer rate of around 1S$ to 9550Rps. Anything more will be a bonus.

Mangga Dua is in the northern part of Jakarta, pretty close to Alexis.

I was in Jakarta on 20/1-23/1. I was busy for the first two days, then on 22/1, I went to Alexis with two local friends. Alexis is very pricey but the place is awesome. We went there around 4 pm and there are lots of girls.
Lots of nice girls in the Vietnamese and Chinese groups. They smile at you, willing to please and awesome in the bedroom. The Uzbek and Thai were not very friendly. I didn't check the local.
We spend 3 millions rupiah each for the girl, spa, room, tips and drinks. The spa is standard, you have 30 mins in the spa with the girls and then 60 mins in the room.

I am no longer an "honoured guest" at 54A Have not been there in over a year ... mostly go to Gordon's at 1651 ... rooms are clean & new, Gordon is happy to "order-in" from most houses ( including 54A ) & I am welcome there While the quality at 54A seems to be good ( NOT MH, Rolex Jenny, good old always-ready JJ , EllaElla or my fav MIKO level ), Garrik & Meng are still a bit un-welcoming , the rooms are still not renovated and the Q's are as long as ever .... and that is the honest unvarnished truth
