She doesn't know I'm intending to buy it yet, but looking to see what kind of budget i need to set aside for it before i tell her.... later say want to buy but cannot afford, damn lose face. Hehe.
Anyone know of a price range?
For a new bike... you are looking at the range of USD 2K - 6K... depending on the models. Good luck
Can some kind brothers help me out with a question I have regarding motorbikes in Saigon?
I know this isn't your question, but I'd make sure she has a license -- or if you drive, that you do. Since Tet, cops have been pulling people over for spot checks for license and insurance(!), and if you don't have your papers in order then and there, they confiscate the bike, probably for one whole month. You can depend upon their security -- when you pick up the bike at the end of one month's time, any parts inside the bike that were of value will have been replaced by junk knockoff parts. By 'security' then, they seem to mean that you can be secure in the thought that you'll be ripped off.

Reason being, my baxa's birthday is coming up soon, and am looking to buy something nice for her.
I've already settled on buying a motorbike for her since the one she's using is a pile of crap and breaks down so often.
Preferrably I'm looking to get a bike with those seats that can lift up to reveal a compartment that can store helmet, sunglasses, snacks, etc, etc because her nice helmets always get stolen.

Hello Chairman V.Killer, Captain Carrot007 and fellow members of LDG,
As the week is coming to an end, I suggest that we have R&R tonight to dis-stress from the hardwork and busy schedule.
Any LDG member is interested to meet up for dinner and drinks tonight?? I suggest dinner at WWBCM but I dont know whether is the CEO of WWBCM Holding No Limited is back in town.
Anyway, I will be heading for my FBS tonight again. If any of the LDG members is interested, please drop by WWBCM at about 7pm.

New bikes cost from about USD1.5k and up. ranging from Yamaha Nouvo to SH300i( This SH cost USD11K)
In terms of storage, the Honda SCR 110 has the best I have seen so far. Last checked was about USD$2.5k
A bike that really suits ladies is the SYM Attila Elizabeth. Very very popular with the ladies and last checked the price was just over USD$2k. Storage space I not very sure.
Advice, if you and you wife know nothing about motorbikes, please buy NEW, dont buy 2nd hand unless you totally trust the seller.

This is a heads-up to all you who ride bikes here in HCMC without license. Govt is cracking down and cracking down hard on illegal riders. They even have specially trained english speaking Traffic cops if the offender is a foreignor.
Of course that is not to say that you cant "pay" your way out of it just that the it might take a bit more Uncle Ho's than usual.
Not too late because I have to go and do charity work. Orphanage in Go Vap District. intrested to go??? Call me
I am keen to do charity work...pls guide me...

Most viet girls would love to own an Atila Victoria Black Brand New = S$3000 approximately. A 2nd hand about 3 years old is around S$2000.

So far so good for me. I don't even have any driving licence with me back home. Licence to drink have. Kekekekekeke.
The pearl/white Attila Elizabeth is the one she likes!! She said last time she'll always walk past the showroom but never buy because she cannot condone spending so much money on herself... so that's when she ended up with some china-brand 2nd hand S$750 bike that breaks down every month at least...
She pointed the Attila out once when we were in Haiphong (her hometown) but I remember the look of it, since I was determined from then (4 months ago) to buy it for her birthday.
Anyway, buying for her also means ba xa chac la xe om cua anh roi! $3k for a bike... ah well ok la time to eat grass for a while, in a way buying her this present ensures i have no more disposable income to eat outside for a while! hehe.
** edit ** So far she's only expecting a birthday present as a romantic getaway for 2 to Vung Tau...
