Not sure why we need Rickie Lambert, when we have the top 2 goalscorers in the league in Suarez and Sturridge.

I know that he has had a very good season with Southampton and he'll be flying to Brazil for the World Cup with England, but he is 32 years old and time is not on his side.

Definitely a great bargain, thou he is 32, but easily has 2-3 good years left. we need bigger squad next season, can't expect SAS starting all matches.

He will offer another option from the bench as well.. I felt like crying when looking at our bench when we need a player who can make an impact from the bench this season... we have only Aspa n Alberto as alternative attackers...

We are having the 2 best strikers in BPL, so no so call "top striker" will be happy to come and sit on our bench... while Lambert is a locally born Liverpool fan, so I guess he will be more than happy to come home, even he knows that he won't be 1st choice strikers...

from the few video clips, he looks like a stronger n tough tackling midfielder, who is very good technically too... he may be the toughness that we lack in the middle...

Yes, we need someone to provide competition to Sturridge else he might take his place as 1st choice for granted. Sturridge has been injury prone for the past seasons, dun thk he could last a season of 40-50 games.

with 3 strikers in the pecking order, i thk Borini wd be almost certain to leave. dun thk he wd want to be 4th choice. even if he stays, i thk unlikely he'll feature in ECL games. maybe only the domestic Cup games n those agt lower tier EPL teams.

Nevertheless, hope he performs and challenge DS or even replaced him as partner to LS.

Anyway a lot of speculations running around...Lallana, Lovren, Emre Can, Alberto Moreno...these are good players at their club..hope we can get all of them.

no lah i think u muz hv read the article on Pool's revised bid of 25m for Lallana. hopefully the deal can go thru.

if the latest reports are true, the players u mentioned above hv a gd chance of signing for Pool. thk the deal with Shaw quite tricky as a host of clubs are after him, in particular devils.

35k for a for a full england international age 19 is abt rite.thats alot of money for sumone so young...but than he have a gf and kids to feed..ashley cole was getting alot lesser when he broke into arsenal first team and england....thats why he moved to chelsea cos arsenal refused to give him a pay rise.well expectations will be higher...hope he has a good world cup.....

Looks like the Lallana deal is off as Sounthampton has failed to respond by the deadline given by BR. They refused to be rushed over the transfer of Lallana as they are looking at offers from other clubs too.

LFC has now turned to Bayern Munich's Xherdan Shaqiri as their replacement target for Lallana.
