lol during Tet average vietnamese spend how much?

Singapore one reunion dinner cost 500 at least. Chinese goodies at least 200 depend on the family. Angbao at least 500 gone. Clothes and etc.. The most a family in Singapore spend on average 2000 dollars. I guess

haha...avg vietnamese only spend USD 200-500 depends on number of heads in the household...of course if have ATM then the figure can explode 10 to 20 times...

in Vietnam during TET, almost every house you see gambling and drinking day and nite...

just that mothers always said money not enough and expect daughters to bring home much more...some gals dun earn enough dare not go home for TET...

I love giving lixi in HCM. 50k 100k... total maybe 2m.

Mainly to hotel staffs; friends children; aiyah sisters, cafe girls whom we known for sometime.

no...i dont see many house gambling and drinking day n nite...only once or twice when family invite guests over to house.


the case where the mother request money from the daughters much seems to be cases where the family is poor and the daughter is working as a WL to support the family.all my close friends in Vietnam dont face such situation.

If i no go vn for TET, its $300 on top of $300 monthly for bx parents.
If i go vn for TET, its $3k for the period i stay.

Lucky me have a good in-law family os good. No gamble (religion). Drinking (guys only) got limit. Mum-in-law no complain of money not enough.

this is tough to answer...no such thing as typical amount...

to me VB is not in a position to dictate amount...we men decide the amount to give according to their worth...

usually lixi is 1-2 mil to VB...and for her family please discuss with VB before giving...parents - 200-500k, siblings - 100-200k...

the lixi is besides whatever you agreed to give her monthly or for amount you give her each trip...

Answer - No not a must or tradition...but Ongxa and Baxa who can afford usually give lixi to each other to hope for a lucky bountiful year...
