hi bros all,

a lil off topic here...but can any bros here recommend good thai food in BKK?? just notice Food isn't really talk bout and I dont trust those internet food review site...it can be in 5-star to good ol' roadside stall...thanx!

ps> i arrive BKK at 10am n the damn hotel only allow me to check-in at 2pm!!..nabeh...4 hours dunno do wat..

Hi,

I tried these places, I think not bad loh,

(1) Nam Sing at MBK 3rd or 4th flr can't remember. Same as the famous Nam Sing at Chinatown. Try their shark fin and bird nest and zi char

(2) Kosune Jap restaurant at WTC (nearer to Zen side) ground floor.

(3) Cabbages and Condoms, unique experience. But alittle out of the way. It is at Sukhumvit Soi 22. Go by cab if by BTS, it is in nearer to NANA station, but need to walk 20 minutes. Good thai food.

(4) Ploy coffee house at Grand Diamond Hotel. last time i stay there, this coffee house serves very good Thai Fried Noodels wrapped in Egg. Power man and it is cheap too, I think less than 100bht, somemore face swimming pool.

Food places are really too many to mention and also depends on individual taste......however if you look at the various threads on Bkk you will find some mention of verious bros fav like the duck mee hawker stall in Huay Khwang or Nathong seafood in Meng Zai which I mentioned in this thread earlier.

Other places that I have tried and were in my opinion not bad are as follows:

1) Somboon Seafood - they have I think 4 branches but the usual ones in the city are in Ratchada (next to Huay Khwang subway station) or in Suriwongse (near Silom) Price - $$;
2) Le Dalat - Vietnamese restaurant in Soi 23 (short walking distance from Soi Cowboy) Price - $$$$
3) ???? Pho Vietnamese Restaurant in 2nd Fl of the building next to Central Department Store - Chitlom ....serves excellent dried noodle and other vietnamese delicasies.......Price - $$
4) Bangkok Sharksfin next to Scala Sharksfin in Siam Square.......food as good as Scala but cheaper in price....price - $$$
5) Japanese restaurant in InterContinental Hotel (forgot the name liao).......serves the best sashimi especially salmon toro that I have tasted in Bkk.......Price - $$$$
6) Ratchada Seafood (Pao kung Bao) ....the WL's fav......nice place for a late night supper with music videos being screened and dancing gers at certain times and gigantic beer dispensers at Thb 350 per container. Price - $$

There are a lot more places but I cannot remember them liao but I hope these help. If you want really local hawker fare get the gers that you date out to bring you.

Thanx to all who posted..its gonna be a great help cuz my virgin trip there..info on girls are aplenty (thanx to u all) but food must also comes in handy! no food = hungry = no mood to cheong = no fun...but with all these input..ill be a very happy man..muahah..cheers all!

For those of you who are in Sukhumvit and like duck noodles, today Bro Whitehawk, Serembanmen and myself tried this stall at an old coffee shop right at the entrance of Soi 15. Very crowded during lunch and pretty good. Some more you can order Jer Chay dishes to go with your duck noodles.

Yesterday went down to Jungle Fever with Bros SmallD, Whitehawk, and Serembanmen and was disappointed to find that it was close. the man at the entrance say that it was temporary closed for only last night (we are not sure though...we hope we are wrong). Wah damn suai man.....haizzzzz

We decided to head back to Ratchada to First Class.......I think this place is great........great looking gers with good personality and some more quite a number can speak some english. And the dancers wah liao the way they perform their sexy gyration and smile at you can drive you crazy. Thanks bro SmallD......great choice...........

Best food, u can find in BKK is in Don Muang...
