Yes, some waitress and bar girls will always try to take charge once you walk in. They think its their bar so they can set the rules.
Best way to avoid this is never let them get that far. Remember it is you who should be in charge and not them.
What I normally do is go in, take my time scanning for a seat I want then slowly walk over and sit or sometimes if I see a nice waitress I will ask her which are her tables, why? because all waitress are assign an area to cover and if I ask then she will always sit me in "her area" so she immediately becomes my waitress.
Once seated, I don't let her rush me. I always take my time and set the pace and ROE (rules of engagement).

Stampede and Cherry bar in Perimeter went broke and for sale. For the record: These 2 bars were never on my favorite list so it could be good news with change in owners and line up.
Bunny Ranch on Fields oso ditto..... I was there and the staff were unusually depressed...... heard from them their days are numbered as the BR bar is bought over by the new management that has taken over the ex-Honeypot bar next door.

I went back there again last night...... and the same waitress served me throughout even though I declined to buy her LD..... her head waitress oso sat with me and explained her waitress did not want to be barfine yesterday because I resembled her father !

Took a trike to SM Mall from La Bamba with my barfine. Although it is within walking distance but we decided to go there by trike as it was drizzling. My barfine ended up arguing with the trike driver when we reached SM Mall because he wanted 100p for the ride and refused to accept less.
In the end she just threw 80p onto the trike and stomped off...... I buat bodoh and just followed her into SM.
Wise move.hope u have a better time with the sty from brass knob.but why the barfine at typoon for her is at 2000peso?did u ask mamasan why her bf is higher?club guiness/fantasy/typhoon all under the same group. The have a standard stucture of 1800peso ewr no tier system I last head.
The mamasan at Typhoon was a different one from the Genesis mamasan..... the barfine left the old mamasan to work for this new mamasan at Typhoon.... I have no idea why the difference on prices...... maybe I look like a carrothead to them.
Although I don't want to start any comparison debates as both place have their pros and cons. Since I've been to both places many times I will just briefly put in my 2cents worth of thoughts.
1) Yes, compare to Patts, AC is more rustic and underdeveloped. Just a walk along beach rd and walking st in Patts and will see much more modern buildings and set ups, including nicer restaurants, discos etc etc.
2) Yes and No, Agree that Patts have more to do daytime as it is surrounded by a beach (not a very good one but its still a beach) and much more shops and malls to visit. But if we are talking about "action" then somewhat disagree as AC have more gals available daytime than Patts. Also for cheonging purposes, the total combine number of gals in AC (all the gals in the regular and Megabars in Fields, Perimeter, subdivisions, local bar hangouts etc) is about even to what is available in Patts (number wise) and Patts is much larger and spread out while AC is much more compact.
3)Yes, food is better in Patts but mainly due to more variety of the food and therefore more choices.
4) Hotels are generally cheaper in Patts as many are willing to give steep discounts during off seasons. AC tend to have more or less a set price year round but sometimes do offer discounts when times are slow and you ask for it. So, price wise if I went off season, rooms are cheaper in Patts. Peak season for both are about same.
5) Finally , as you said "all in all" for me the MAIN deciding factor for both places is the LANGUAGE. I can speak to 95% of the gals I pick up in AC while I can't speak to 70% of the gals I pick up in Patts.
So if price wise both places are similar (more or less) I tend to choose AC. Like you said, AC is more intimate and its being able to talk to them that makes it so (at least for me).
For those that can speak Thai fluently then perhaps Pattaya will win hands down.
Again, these are just my thoughts.

Very good comparisons and you are correct that the food selection is way better in Pattaya. Just go to one of the bigger malls there and visit the food courts there. Have Malay, Thai, Indian, Chinese--both spicy and HK style, Jap noodle, Korean, Italian (spagetti, even sometimes pizza), etc.. and cheap too. Better stop as the list is making me hungry.

I think you missed the exact same argument a few pages back about Trikes (and almost evrything else in AC). Always agree on a price before stepping in so no surprises in the end. They don't do it to locals when they are alone but if they see you then prices automatically double or triple in price. But I'm just surprise that your BF paid for the ride, never happened to me as they see me as the ATM.

No real danger in picking out any waitress in advance. It's all a game to them and for me if I don't like the direction she is taking then I finish my beer and move on. Even if I return to same bar later on, I would just sit somewhere else and get a new waitress. They normally are not offended as its just a game.
If the girl choose a dbl instead of what u offer they waitress should inform u back she wans a double.(sml bottle etc)then it's your take to buy it or reject this may cause some awarkness and be called a kuriput(cheap Charlie):
Not really. The girls are just getting a feel of what they can get away with. They are more than happy just to have a LD and if you accept the double LD offer then they can expect more from you later. The Cheapies are the ones that go in and talk to girls and spend time with them but never offer to buy any LD.

Yeah the big clubs had more girls than any single bar in Pattaya. I was laughing inside the big bars thinking about schools of fishes swimming in their thousands to confuse bigger fishes hunting them. I felt like a shark!

bo pian la ........ these 2 places will always be compared as they both are very similar. Both started to service americian servicemen. Pattaya has been around longer so the developement has had more time. If the phillipino govt decided to build another mall and add some water/theme parks as well as develope Clark Airport , the place could be flooded with Russian Chinese Indian family tourist.
Lots more money in thse tourist than mongers and if given the chance to rid themselves of a 'sex' paradise , the phillipinos will follow the thais in turning AC into a family destination.
Anyway , back to the subject , the comparison serves as a guide ; not an argument as different people will have different views , wants and needs.
Much more to do in Pattaya .... island tours , water park , more suanas.... more choices but I found my niche in Wild Aces watching and gambling football so its back down to personal choices. BTW , I didnt notice a bowling alley in AC. Is there one?
Even mongering is more as you're not included Soi 2/3 , Soi 6 , Soi 7/9 , Drinking Street , LK Metro , the other side of Sukhumvit , up the hill after Walking Street , Jomten , Soi Baukow etc etc.
If you walk around Soi Diana , Soi Kaukow area , there are many hotels with nice pools going for under 1000B. Low and High season is about 100b difference.
The thing going against the thai is ther economy is going strong so their currency is sustaining and even strengthening itself against other curriencies. We are lucky the SGD is strong. It is getting more expensive in Thailand. I remember 1sgd used to get about 40b many years ago!
So finally , people will have their own choices. Some can speak thai so prefer thailand's GFE , some prefer the pinoys for their more 'rounded' bodies. It will depend on personal preferences.
Remember: Never say you are staying at the America Hotel, as many won't go with you as they think its haunted. If you said that then many won't even want a tip from you as they are hoping you won't BF them.

I used this to weed out the mercenaries! I never stop them from ordering a double but if they do , then no BF from me. I think the ones that order singles are more willing to work for their pesos.
