It's safe for tourist/foreigner, don't make any trouble and they will leave you alone.
When I was there, my friend had his car and bike parked inside the house and locked up, the car was literally in the living room, was very eye opening from a foreigner like me that live in a safe city.

But it's alright, walking at night for supper is safe, train from haiphong to halong is good and clean.

city is safe so long you keep low profile...many Koreans, PRC and HK there when I went back in 2017...nothing much in the city besides industrial esp LPG...

next time may not land in haiphong to go halong but rather fl in to Van Don airport...

If you can tolerate fourth world condition, Do son offers much for the buck. There is much information in the Taiwan forum, HK forum and the Japanese forum.
There are even Youtube videos about the place.
Go there before the authority shuts it down.

Do son only playable area is that few building similar fish tank concept. Price starts from 400k dong now. Used to be 150k.
But condition is really cmi.

Further up to haiphong city u can explore the Korea street where most of the massage joint there. Few nuru massage joint and easily to spot when u walk along the street.

Price starts from 700k for 75mins includes naked bath with ml.
Tips 600k includes hj bj only. If fj additional 500k.
Total basic damage would be 1300k.
Ml not really fantastic. Can't compare to hcm quality.

Next will be the ktv joint.
Similar to all others in vietnam.
But do expect more budget or at least go a group of guys with someone we'll spoken viet. Otherwise be prepared to be carrot.

Do you mean Van Cao street? There are cheaper bj at local places.

My friend just came back frm there 2 weeks ago said 350k up for do son but many syt... Many prc man there.. Boring place at do son... Just fk fk fk and fk only.. Talking of safety, I didn't hear him complain and he is returned and planning another trip with a brother in July...

For the price I think is a must go... But don't expect much service.. Really fast food type I guess... But syt ah

My friend said Haiphong still OK got things like ktv and club...

Pls include the transport cost from Haiphong City to D Son and back....Flashback 2017 I paid almost more than a million to and fro taxi cost...dun look at only 350k for a fj...
