well said. children r very good at "monkey see, monkey do". so if children turn out to be disrespectful to elders, it is usually bcos they see their parents do that to their elders.

I find that if parents have a open-minded concept, things will work out fine. For example, instead of strictly NO clubbing, why not say, if you're going clubbing, just let us (parents) know? Then as parents, review them on a case to case basis. Of course, to show that you care about them, dont discourage them by saying that they cant have too much to drink etc. Just tell them, I'll be there when you finish and I'll fetch you home.

Sometimes its all about eating the humble pie and not letting your kids/parents climb on top of you. There has to be a natural balance of both aspects.

one---> parents upbringing, like many had said the more protective the more rebellious it gets. been there done that

two---> in this society, $$$ has make alot of low income families suffered too much, we are mortals after all not all can take it poor

These are the quotes the local FL should see, nevermind real or not, as it is a reality they have to face up to.

Now, upbringing or materialism aside, the thing is that our local girls need to learn from the other FL if they still want to earn these easy money: i.e. simply don't eat and shit at the same country! Those FL who still got any dignity or intelligence will tell me they came to Sg because they don't want their friends or family to know, and they are just normal goody girl back at home town. Not that their home town don't have vice. This alone I hope the local girls can wise up.
