I thought of this question as well. But then I think again, will their opinion change our decision? The fact remains, if you like to sleep around, whether your gf or wife accepts or not, you will still do it. Just that you need to do it more discreetly.

Furthermore, their opinions does not have any significantly bearing that is going to effect our opinions. Meaning, does it mean that if your gf/wife can accept means you can accept too? The fact remains that if you cannot accept means, you cannot accept, whether she accepts or not is not important at all.
