The slightest mention of raids and you shrink back to your shell. Regular cheongesters will tell you raids ; regardless of anywhere in the world are just a periodic check on things by the police and higher level. Things will go back to normal as AC has too much to lose if the bars close.

All this raids maybe because of the Human Trafficking watch list. The Philippines and Singapore is taken off the Human Trafficking watch list according to Newspaper last week. Got to show action mah. My girl told me girls are getting very hard to leave philippines even for those with those 6 months entertainment work permit. Most will need a escort to get through the philippines immigration. Some agents actually have to resort to get their sg guys to go to Manila to 'escort' / act as bf for the girls so that they can get pass the immigration in Manila.

Once arrival in Singapore, the girls can jolly walk through as they will have the permit.

I will fret and shiver, when the day they raid the hotel rooms comes, and will stay away from AC .. .. cos, in hotel room raids, you don't have any arguement, as you are caught in the act and you can't claim you were having bible lessons ..

after all, atleast half the bars are laundering money for the big honchos in Manila .. though the partners - ang mo partners, dunno always ... ... (dont quote me .. but .. I was caught in a few raids, in PM, here .. and, the first thing you must do is - dis-associate yourself from the girls ..

It had nothing to do with payoffs. Richard Agnew the owner of Golden Nile was the self proclaimed president of ABAC, the bar owners group. He was the bag man to the government officials, if any bar was funding the officials, it was Richard.

As you know the government is corrupt, and the press is equally so. The story you show is propaganda supported by the government officials, it does not represent the facts.

Sunshine bar was raided on a labor claim. Due to lack of funds, they did not have enough money to pay their girls / staff. The mother of one of the girls went to Channel 5 news to complain. Channel 5 thought it would be good news to raid a foreign owned bar. The mother was not concerned about her daughter being a prostitute, she was mad her daughter was not sending home the money. Who is the pimp and human trafficer? Because the bar was not paying their girls the full salary, the police trumped up Human Trafficing charges, in essence claiming the girls were being forced into prostitution / work as slave laborers. Forget the fact if the girls did not like being there they could have gone to any bar on the street and gotten a new job. Forget the fact that non-payment of wages is a labor claim, not a human trafficing offense. Forget the fact that Sunshine bar will be the first business in the Philippines who is insolvent and unable to pay their bills and rather than a labor claim will be charged with human trafficing. 16 girls, including the bar manager were taken out of Sunshine. Now they are going to file Human Trafficing with a life sentence, against a guy who earns 20 dollars a day as greeter for foreign guests. All because the bar is bankrupt (or maybe hard times) and can't pay everyone's wages. Think about how many USA and European companies went bust in the latest economic crisis, guess they all were involved in human trafficing. The idiot USA Ambassador shakes his head yes.

Golden Nile was raided, so stated for having underage girls. There is some confusion on this point, as the mission order is reported to have been made against Blue Nile (different owners and different bar) , but word on the street was the police were confused by the similarity in names. So off they go to raid Golden Nile, but the girls did not want to be "saved", rather they rushed the police and doors (the police were trying to barracade them inside the building) , some 200 girls escaped the police. Further funny things, the police did manage to corral some 100 girls on a couple of buses. As one of the buses hit MacArthur avenue, the girls figured out the emergency exit at the back was unlocked, some sixty girls started jumping out of the bus on MacArthur, with police running all over the place trying to catch them. A very funny sight. In both escapes from the police, Filipino bystanders were clapping, hollering and laughing at the police.

The police pissed off at both successful escapes, and faced with empty buses, then turned around and raided Blue Nile and Cambodia bars, very few taken as most of the smarter bars had closed by this time.

The news paper article is complete bullshit for the local do gooders and the USA Ambassador (an individual so stupid it defies logic on how he got his job). The girls walk in fear of the police, not the bar owners. Being taken by the police means they will be locked up in jail for a long time, stories include being given only a half a bowl of rice a day, forced confessions in order to be released (forced to implicate the owner / managers / mamasans of the bars) , sexual harrassment from the police officers, made to pay money for release. Human trafficing is sponsored and owned by the very same government officials who are elected to protect their citizens. Everyone knows it is the Filipino bars / brothels / massage parlors owned by these government officials that run underage girls and boys, its the government officials that own the agents who process the passports and documents for sending workers out of the country to the sex trade or indentured servitude. Everyone except the idiot USA Ambassador.

I dun think this is about who can talk the talk and walk the walk. Why do punters like us cheong in the first place? Simply to have fun and relieve some of the daily stresses of life. Having fun means not taking any unnecessary risks and having to worry about placed behind bars in an alien country, which u dun belong to and pple wun care 2 hoots abt ur life much less ur wellbring.
Simply speaking, for some of us, its just not worth it. There are much more pleasant and straightforward ways to have decadent fun!

Much appreciated if seasoned cheongsters like urself can keep us shell-bound punters abreast of the latest developement and let us know when the all-clear can be sounded and we can come out of our shells.

If you are worried of stress, in Asia, prostitution is Illegal ... so anywhere, including OT, or Beach Club in KL ... anywhere, you can be caught in a raid ...

What they do to punters is what matters..

Hey bro...... I make friends with everyone
This mamasan from Typhoon took excellent care of me when I was in her bar so I got along well with her gals as well..... we keep in touch even after I left AC.

Anyway I finally managed to contact her........ there was indeed another raid again last night so most of the bars closed their doors when the raiding party was sighted ...... heard the police couldn't get any gals/staff arrested so they arrested the security guard of Gecko's bar (which was the 1st bar they targeted) who had obstructed them from entering so that the gals can escape through the back exit

Many bars will be empty this coming days as most of the gals will not be coming to work until things cool down..... my mamasan friend has given her gals a 2-week break and she herself is going balek kampung to Visaya for the next 2 weeks.

For bros who are going to AC it is better to change your playground to elsewhere until the situation is back to normal.

Sensational raid on Forbidden City shocks Fields Avenue

A sensational scene in Forbidden City shocked Fields Avenue as large vans and trucks, which included members of different special task forces and social welfare groups, allegedly deployed from Manila, raided the bar late Thursday night. Camelot bar was reported to also have been raided. It is reported that all the staff at Camelot were taken into custody as well.

Both bars have been known not to have any nude or inappropriate shows whilst Forbidden City has recently been involved in an underage setup by the recently-relieved Angeles City CIDG Head Randy Glenn Silvio, which makes the motive of the sensational raid mystifying.

The news will surely surprise Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan, currently in the US and set to return next week, who has recently promised to protect and promote Fields Avenue with the aim to develop the strip into a major World tourist destination.

It is speculated that the strengthened anti-human trafficking operations prompted by the meeting between President Aquino and US President Barack Obama slated this month has been the primary cause of the raid.
