I think studies have discouraged parents to use direct force on their children. We adults cannot measure our strength and a little child may not be able to withstand a what we would call a 'light' slap... Theory of relativity.. Do you want to dwell into this as well Mr oahpekahsom?

These days we use verbal discipline and if physical punishment is unavoidable then it was adviced that we use a cane on the palm....

Dear Bro hamlinlau,

As an old man and a parents of several grown up kids, I agree with you on the use of verbal discipline, or telling my children what they have done wrong and explain to them the why and the eventual consequence. My wife and I have a harmonious family when we reason with each other. The use of physical force is never our means of teaching our children (although in the Forum, some brothers said I was a big time pai-kia.. I was and still am not. I am an ordinary person - Pu Tong Ren).

I enjoy the way you explain momentum and force. Although some points are overly simplified, but the essence is there. Congratulations to your effort. Being in the area of physical sciences all these years, it is a rare opportunity to see good brothers here using the basis to explain some daily phenomenon. Braov! Brother.

I was recalling the whole situation, I dunno why I didn't think of pushing my friend away. Maybe I should have and end up both of being smashed by the bottle, as I was between them. My first instinct was to remove the bottle.

My intention of my post is to show the other side of the coin, that using no violence is not applicable at all times and NOT to advocate hurting someone, furthermore the fairer sex. Sometimes things happen you re-act and later regret. Of course like I said earlier if can end up no bloodshed, that will be good.

No comments about holding drinks well, there is always another better holder....kekek.

It depends on how you look at it.....Pressure = Force over Area....thus Pressure is indirectly proportionate to Area....The smaller the area the greater the Pressure with the Force remaining constant.,.... I think you know cos you are very powderful in your Physics shown in your reply to Ohapekahsom.
