Why take the airport express when you have time to spare, take the public bus number A11 along Hennessy Road. If I am not wrong, it's only about HKD35.00 per trip. This way, you will at least, enjoy some scenery of Hong Kong, especially when the bus travel along Tsing Ma Bridge. Well, this for me talking, I have travelled this way many time and can't seem to get sick of the sight and sound of Hong Kong.

For that budget, the only place you will get DECENT accomodation is in Youth Hostels located in remote locations. But if you want a place in the happening district, your chioce will be super limited as a decent hotel (Say Hotel 81 standard) on a weekend will be at least 1000HKD. One option is Mirador mansion, near exit N5 of TST East station. Outside it looks seedy, bit there are a FEW hostels with good rooms. One of them is USA hostel, London hostel. But dont even expect H81 or Fragrance quality here.

My strong suggestion is, if you want a decent hotel then stay in Louhu in Shenzen. It is at the HK border. Within 15 mins you can cross the border and board the HK MTR at Lo Wu, which takes you straight to Hung Hom.

When do you want the room. On some occassion, hotels are in demand hence price varies according to period. 350~500 rate can only get you budget hotel, or 2 stars hotel.

If you don't have much luggage (and can check in train terminal left luggage), all motels in Tsim Sha Tsui to Mong Kok offer overnight rates from 10.00 pm onwards of HK$ 250 - 350 depending on grade of motel. Check out time is usually 12 noon.

That's because the 一楼一凤 type of WLs are legal. As long as each apartment has only 1 girl, its perfectly legal. That's why they all have their own small apartments instead of sharing a big house like Geylang.

Being alone with a stranger can be dangerous, which is why they have CCTVs all over the place. There were cases of WLs being murdered in their apartments by clients ( or men pretending to be clients ).

Some more Pros and Cons of this Mirador mansions and Chungking mansions. They are one of the seediest places I have ever seen. Expect to see roaches everywhere. It is a fire trap with no or little escape routes. A lot of hulky blacks roaming about 24X7 but they will never trouble you. Not the place where you would expect super chio girls from Jap, Korea, China or Ah Mohs but surprisingly you do see them in this squalid hell hole. The Indian money changers here give you the best value for money with no commission charged.

Try not to eat anywhere in these mansions. If you fancy any of the Nepali, Black or Indian hookers, the going rate is only HKD 150 though they will start at 400HKD.
