This incident happened in the nineties. I was working as a security officer at a hotel in Tanglin road. It was my turn to patrol the coffee house car-park. I told her that I havent done it before but if she have some sort of manual book in the car then maybe I could gave it a try. She told me she remembered she might have one and went to look for it. After she found it, I then took out my jacket and started folding up my sleeve. I asked her to read out the steps from the manual and I will try to do it.
After it was done, I rolled down my sleeve and said to her: " Thats it madam, it okay now." She then said " Thanks a lot. You have been so kind. Here is a small token of appreciation for your help." She then gave a $50 bill. I reject immediately and said: " Errr...no madam. I am just doing my job here." She tried to convince me to accept it but dun know why I just dont feel like accepting it. She thanked me again, got into the car and drove off.
The next day was a thursday. During lunch time, my colleague told me that he was going to Tanglin Mall to buy toto and asked whether I want to buy too. He also said the prize money had snowballed to more than a million. I was really tempted when I heard that but I really have no numbers to buy that day. Suddenly I recalled the incident that happened previous night with the beautiful lady with the punctured tyre. Slowly I managed to think of seven numbers from that incident. Wrote it down on a piece of paper and passed it to my colleague.
That night, the results came. Haiz....only kena 1 number. Wasted $3.50 for nothing. Monday then came quickly. Again this time, the same colleague jio me again. He said " Eh, xxxx, today want buy toto ornot? Last week no winner again hor." I then replied him: "Aiyoh. Dun wan lar. Toto veri difficult to kena lei. Last week buy 7 numbers, only kena 1 number....aiya "........
........The next day, while having lunch with my colleague at the staff cafeteria, my colleague told me last night toto at last got winner leow. As I was almost finished with my lunch, I took the newspapers on the table and said : " Wow, izzit ? So lucky hor." While flipping through the newspaper, I saw the toto results column. Took a glimpse and suddenly I realized the numbers look familiar. I quickly took out the last draw ticket from my wallet and realize out of the seven numbers, six of them were the winning numbers!!!!! I was stunned and stay that way for a while staring at the newspaper. My colleague probably noticed my reaction and came over and suddenly shouted out: " Waaa.....tio leow tio leow." I then come back to my senses and realized I was surrounded by hotel colleagues. I then told them : " Bo lar bo lar, bo buay lar. Jik a pai si a lar. Pai ik wa bo buay lar...haiz." There was only 1 winner for that draw. If I have only followed the numbers just for one more draw, I would have shared the prize money with the other winner but it would still be more than a million for each one of us.......haiz.....maybe I am not fated to be a millionaire but I hope God will give me another chance......thousandaire also can lar.......hehee.......end of story.....thanks for reading....

He went to Shenton Way Bank of China to remit $$$$ back to China and outside the bank, got an old man selling Big Sweep tickets. He asked my father to help him buy some as his business was not so good that day. My father bought 7 tickets from him and 1 of the tickets missed the first prize.
