A Scary Experience In Hatyai

This incident happened in the eighties in Hatyai. I think it was my 3rd or 4th trip there and together with my friend, it was supposed to be a 3 nights stay. During the eighties, flights tickets were not cheap as there were no budget airlines yet. So normally we will took the 16 hours bus ride up to Hatyai and it was during this trip, we decided to try another bus company for a different experience and what a scary experience it turned out to be.

The bus ride was okay with the usual 5 breaks at malaysia but when we arrived at Hatyai, we were surprised that instead of alighting at the town area, we were actually brought to the bus terminal. Not familiar with that area, we looked quite lost and soon we were approached by a thai man. He claimed to be a tuk tuk driver and offered to take us to our hotel. Actually we were staying at Inter hotel and since we were not sure which direction to go, we accepted his offer.

After boarding the tuk tuk, suddenly another 2 thai men appeared and jumped into the moving tuk tuk. Along the journey, 1 of them offered and try to convince us to go to the farm first and then back to the hotel with the wls, thus saving time. Thinking that it was quite a good idea, we agreed and the man then tapped the side of the tuk tuk and make some kind of hand signals to the driver.

When we arrived at the farm, I was surprised to see that it was actually a row of shop houses. We were then led to a shop where I saw a man repairing a motorcycle outside. The driver then slide open the shop metal gate and invited us in. Upon entering the shop, I heard a loud slamming metal sound. I turned around and saw the man who was repairing the motorcycle outside earlier chaining the door and locked it !!!!! By now, I knew we were in big trouble and quickly whispered to my already panicked friend to remain calm.........to be continued tonight at 9pm........now need to go somewhere.....paiseh paiseh.....hehee.......
