Although it is targeted at the bars, it has provisions to include mamasans and the hirer of the prostitute. This law has only been in force for 4 months but its effect is already being felt within the industry with many managers quitting the scene and owners putting up their businesses for sale.

Mongers traveling to the Philippines please take necessary precautions as the Singapore Embassy WILL NOT offer assistance if you are charged under this Act.

Times are a changing...... so we must also follow the tide and change our habits.

after reading the thread above is there any cause for concern? me and my buddies booked tix oredi to AC sometime in November should we cancel our trip? what does the AC regulars think? would things change for the better or worse? sorry for my rant but was looking forward to this trip and after reading the current news from the ppl here has made me think twice about heading to AC... hoping the senior members can shed more light on this thank u in advance

I agree we should have some decorum in this thread. Flinty was replying to a slur on him. Shouldn't you be giving the guy who started it a warning as well?

I would agree to the first sentence, though don't agree to the second, as .. we are outsiders and have no say in who is who there and should keep our noses clean .. better MYOB and keep a low profile is what i says ..

Last night's raid saw 15 girls and an Australian customer arrested. The customer was arrested for barfining one of the girls...... this morning the NBI announced that the Australian will be charged with human trafficking. The Babydolls bar remains closed and padlocked.


Barfine is a non-bailable offence now and the maximum punishment is 20 years jail time and 2 million pesos fine.

I still can't figure out how barfining becomes Human Trafficking, in common - normal sense, per se .. but, hey we never know how the law can be twisted in PH right ??

thanks... its scary!! can i ask in this case, is hiring a fl more safe than getting a bf from the bar generally? seems like attention is more on the bars lately. just a thought.

before Mayor replies, my 2 cents, having barfined and picked FLs etc. etc.. latter too have their own issues, and are known to be hot-spots for setups .. and more than few street walkers have their scam-companions in tow or not too far away ...

Hence my rules when i pick up street walkers/FLs .. switch off phone, dont' give real name, confuse to where you stay etc. etc. and i have had 'near mishaps' though never been in the chopping block, me says, with FLs, exercise caution and they can never replace a barfine system in terms of safety ...

Do the others wish to disagree ??

No other customers apart from the Australian? How did the NBI know the Australian barfined a BG? This is very risky. Should we just have a quick SMB and take our barfine out immediately to avoid all these?
