For those who do not know, there is a mobile phone application for the major brands such as Apple, Nokia, etc. The application name is Fake Call. Similar applications that do the same thing are available by other names.

You set it and at the time (or set time interval) that you choose, your phone will ring with display of ID of some fictional person calling you. Actually no one has called you.

The culprit in the story above pretended to take the call and walked out as though to have better reception. I suspect he used this Fake Call application. Only very low class people do the things described above. But then again HFJs tend to attract many low class people who like to pretend to the singers that they are rich.

HFJ operators have seen this too often by now. Nowadays they collect money first from the flower thrower before presenting the flower or banner to the singer. Or immediately after the flower or banner is given, the bill is presented for payment to the guy who wanted to give it.

I had a friend who will pretend to run out to take phone calls whenever the bill for the drinks is shown. It got too obvious and tiresome. So one day just told him - no need to run out. I will settle the bill. Nowadays never bother to invite this guy along for drinks. Even the wait staff got tired of his pretence and mad dash out of the HFJ whenever the bill appears.
