3.RCA is not within walking distance to Huay Khwang. RCA is 2 MRT stops away from Huay Khwang and that is quite far to walk ( Huai Khwang - Thai Cultural Centre- Pharam 9 MRT ). Take a cab. Slim and Felix are clubs that are interlocked with each other. Go into Slim and there is a pathway inside that leads you to Felix. You can go inside 1 bar and this can leads you to enjoy 2 bars at one go. Lot of young girls in both bars. Pls bring your identity card because the bouncer will check your age before letting you go inside ( unless, you know someone inside to book a table and the that gal/guy waits for you at the entrance and brings you in without identity checks ). This happened to me sometime ago.

The computer mall is call platinum mall which is opp pratunam.

Temple wise, usually I head to erawan because its accessible so i can OTOT and there are shopping centres within walking distance there.

will be heading to bkk AGAIN (im getting sick of the flights really) end of jan for 3 weeks for some business and of course pleasure.

Personally I would suggest staying lower suk as it is within walking distance to Nana and cowboy and in the afternoon there is eden club to visit. and late morning fls are available at the coffee world near soi 7/1. :P and at night there are the stalls selling stuff and food stalls everywhere.

Update on Hollywood closing time. Last night was show night and the music was still going on until past 3am. Them PRs were handing out the calendars outside the joint. Got one now but nowhere safe to hang it! Show is getting raunchier everytime I go back. They've changed the titty star stickers to what appears to be masking tape or plaster. Ouch!

Agree that you can get a solid massage in Subway, but they always try to hit you with a special, even if the masseuse is bordering aunty category. Dont know which is the best traditional massage, but the locals love Healthland which is reasonably priced and definitely no hanky panky. There is a branch on Ekkamai soi 10, off Sukhumvit 63. Senses on Sukhumvit soi 19 just past the Family Mart is also good for a no specials massage. Let me see .... at the end of soi 33 away from the Sukhumvit main road there is a nicely furbished massage place. Prices are reasonable and service is professional. Only tried foot and shoulder there and it was really good. Sorry dont know of any places with male masseuses Have fun.

Dec's festive high season was lousy for airticket pricing (unless you were one of lucky ones who pre-booked budget months earlier). Some1 even rebuffed with regular airline like SQ was quoting 700+ over xmas/new year, if late booking in Dec.

Just some info which may interest bros here on feb (just after peak 14-16/2 cny hols). Was looking at window 19-23/2 with suitable timings etc. Earlier this week, Jetstar quoted 228. Kns, next day up 288. Tiger (with zero service) was a blood sucker circa 350. AirAsia by comparison 268. Before extras or add ons for check-in baggage (never mind no makan and squeezed seating).

More favourable comparison on Zuji was regular airlines by TG, Cathay at 300 without forking out extras. SQ beyond my threshold at 484/500 (but for other low periods can look at circa 350). So booked TG direct (easy webbie) at 295. Budget maybe cheaper if book real early outside blackout dates, but regular airline maybe worth another look at off peak periods. 2 fingers up at Tiger -pay more (so ironic) and kena part of circus act.

Then I got excuse to come back to chiong This type of thing got to repay if not next time the buddha will not help u anymore. Drink in Slim/Felix. Black Label was thb 1,500 last time i went in. Now, maybe more. Never drank beer there so do not know the price.

No, it's Pantip Plaza (almost next door). Platimum is more of clothing stuff (in aircon comfort), more bulk purchase. Chaotic area in daytime.

Individual preference. More touristy and busy stretch. Have to siam stalls and ppl on sidewalks. A bit after Asoke stretch, more space and air (my preference)

For me, no more budget airline anymore. I have a golf bags, and love to extend/change my departure (I am a fickle minded old man). Best to take TG, can change anytime, no need to folk out any extra money. One phone call is all that is needed.

Try this joint situated directly opposite palazzo hotel, the joint is @ level 2 immediately after a 7-11 con-store. A clean & good skill massage with reasonable price. Blind man, middle age woman & man armed with good massage skill. If you need a extreme hard massage, just ask the Boss to attend you personally. Cheers.

i m actually not like 70 - 80 , but always go pubs , discos just to bio gals so was label as dirty old man. White hair was due to too much work stress.

By the way I m actually looking for genuine sports apparel like Adidas , Nike but is cheaper , something like US factory outlet. Does Pratunam sell those ? Or they are selling chiong ones ?

Hi,

In my view,it's better to get your apparel @ Queenway Shopping Ctr as most of the stuffs in pratunam are not genuine. The real stuffs are more expensive than SG unless you bump into a sales promotion. cheers.

On my recent NY trip I came across a new up and coming boutique hotel in ratchada near the hindu elephant shrine and in front of huay khwang station. The 1st floor lobby have a bar with a big flat tv screen and four nice ktv rooms on the M floor open to the public, charges about 700 to 800 bahts for the first two hours and follow by 100 bahts every hour. According to the management the hotel rooms about 40 will be ready in march and the promotion rates from 800 to 1,000 bahts per night. Do not confuse with the small hotel next door.
The place is very convenience and near to all the entertainment area and also for those who like to walk around huay Khwang night market like myself.

Will keep you guys update if any further news.
