Hi, new here. Been to AC during feb, stayed at fields plaza ( ABC sister hotel ). Had a great time. Planning for a return trip soon, but looking for budget hotels. Any suggestions for a newbie here ? Anyway I'm looking for something like two bedroom options as some of my friends don't wish to sleep alone for the next trip. Can give some suggestions ? Thanks

Not too sure if I should mention this info about Blue Nile here. A couple of weeks back my childhood friend and neighbour was called in to handle some trouble there. He and his gang thought it was the usual backup needed by the BN resident security personnel to handle some troublemaking customers (they often get this type of requests especially when the foreign military forces are in town). However this time they were surprised that the troublemakers were the staff themselves.
The Blue Nile was previously owned by 5 partners with Richard Agnew as the main shareholder. Sometime last year, one of the partners was shot dead in his sleep and the BN was constantly harassed by the authorities. The main shareholder RA decided to quit the AC scene and sold out his shares to the remaining 3 partners and a new guy. These 4 partners run the BN now.
Blue Nile has a reputation for runners and many of their girls do double duty as FLs in the HS disco next door after their work. This led to several complaints by disgruntled customers so the new management decided to revamp the working system and implement some rules for their gals.
I do not know the extent of the entire revamp but some of the changes which were made was :-
a) There are only Group dancers (1800p) and Cultural dancers (2500p) now;
b) Customers must be informed when the gals order any double LDs (the gals will not be paid their commission if the customer complains otherwise);
c) All staff of Blue Nile are barred from visiting the HS disco after work or even during their off days;
d) All barfines are expected to stay the agreed timing with the customer (runners will not be paid their commission);
e) Dancers job is to dance while on stage (warning will be given to those hiding in a corner / chatting with fellow dancers / showing boredom or bad attitude);
(2nd warning will be fine 50p, 3rd warning will be asked to leave).
f) All staff are to be inside the bar area (no hiding in the changing room or CR); etc
These are just some of the rules implemented and the gals were not happy especially those runners and FLs in the HS disco.
So what happened was one friday night, all the dancers changed into their home clothes, walked out and congregated at the entrance to Blue Nile preventing others from entering. Some even got their friends, relatives and boyfriends to join them.
What my friend told me was this incident was instigated by the pinoys pimping for the BN runners / FLs whose source of income was cut off when the gals were barred from the HS disco.
The situation at the BN is touch n go at the moment as the management deal with the change of personnel. Many gals were asked to leave and new ones hired.

Damn! I was abt to comment that based on my last trip, I feel that Blue Nile and Ponytails have many good looking ladies compared to the other bars.

Only looking at this from one perspective. If all were to look at it at a much larger scale and not only at Blue Nile then the situation of runners will remain the same overall as the "runners" will simply move on to other bars and practice their pimping/ disco /runner routine. It's only when we circulate amongs ourselves the names of the runners and which bars we picked them up that we can try to minimize this practice.
Good advice but Just to add:
Tips also not encourage for bad performers even if they stay the whole nite with you.
ex: I remember picking up a BF that stayed all nite but after one round all she wanted to do was watch TV and sleep. Yes, she fulfilled her agreement of not running and stayed until the required time but the whole time she was there it was almost like she wasn't really there anyway. I was too tired and too late in the nite to kick her out so I let her stay the nite (if it was early, I would've kicked her out and find another). She had the nerve in the morning to even ask for breakfast and her TIPS, I just laughed and kicked her out.
Also, DO NOT TIP non performers such as dead Starfishes as we can't reward lazy performers either.
Just from my experiences.
To All you newbies, read back on all the good advices given by all the great ones here and you will have no trouble on your virgin trips.
Most of all, don't be over reacting and too paranoid about it all and relax and enjoy it all.
And remember if you do make mistakes along the way, Don't worry as it will be a learning experience and just makes you a smarter cheongster the next time out.

I go AC on 10/02/2012. I book ticket from Tiger Air but I think Tiger Air & Seair got join so I fly take Seair.
The Flight time is about 3 and half hour, same like all budget airlines but Seair stewardess prettier then Tiger Air stewardess. Tiger Air stewardess look like pasar malam salesgirls.
When reaching filipines, the pilot fly very low leh, like can see windows in the buses. The airport is AC still little bit back-dated like last time Hatyai or Phuket airport in eighties. Many fields beside runway, like can keep cow type. Here a picture.
The airport is small, only one building and must walk from aeroplane to building type.
Also, the link go to the building, like use many container join type lah. Inside also same. wood floor, same like container in construction site.
Immigration got for foreigners that means us hor, and for filipinos. I see the filipinos queue, I little start to scared leh. KNN, all of the pinoys like CMI leh. Even young ones. I start to think, if the pinoys can travel also look like CMI, like dat how about the rest?
I check out quite fast because I only carry one bag. Outside, I see got driver from hotel wait for me with my name big big on signboard. He go fetch car while I go to money changer change some money. I think rate is about 33. something. Cannot remember the "something".
Drive to hotel in Balibago about 15 mins. Along the way, I see AC little bit like from Danok to Hatyai drive. Not so much cars, ok road, have some buildings on both side, but not soo modern. Also little bit like outer Bangkok. I think like that how can happening in AC?
Then driver reach one point like got toll, but I no see him pay anything. Drive past toll, KNN suddenly filipines 200% change leh. NBCB, the place suddenly so crowded with many, many shops, many, many cars, and many, many people. Like different world leh. The time only 5 plus evening but you see so many bars, massage, etc all already opened and many many pinoys here and there. Somemore quite swee one leh.
The driver then bring me go my hotel at ABC hotel.
My hotel I already early booking thru internet so no problem. Quite nice hotel, big room, got sofa, etc. My bathroom got jucuzzi type one. Here some picture.
I put my things, and then start go down. I ask for adapter because the hotel room got no 3-pin power point. Only 2-pin so need adapter to charge handphone battery lah. But recept tell me every room got adapter above fridge lah. So OK, no problem, later check.
Hotel lobby got 3 lap top for people want to use internet for free. Can use and see outside. Sorry photo lillte bit dark.
I check internet confirm the places. bars I want to go. After 15 mins, I move out of hotel.

Well seems like alot of things are changing in AC with the rising cost + rules that may kill the fun.
Yesterday spend most of the time texting my Special girl, but she just doesn't want to come out to meet me. Reason: I ignore her.
From the exchange of texts, i gather that she has found a richer guy n just want to give an excuse to end our relationship.
She is staying w a friend who has a guy supporting, so maybe under influence n my pittance money to her is too less compared to her friend.

Actually I spend quite lavishly and end up on average spending between S$100-$150 per day. This does not include hotel and airfare.
