And so the 'giving' part works, because when one gives, the other gives also.

Only when one party is entitled and takes too much, then the giver will start to feel resentment.

its all about reward and benefit.

if you are someone who has enough power, status, finance, that the woman who cheats will lose more than she can get outside, she will stay faithful

but if she doesn't mind losing you, or not find you interesting anymore and something outside seems attractive, given the right temptation, they will cheat and leave.
