Hiddink issues quit threat

Turkey coach Guus Hiddink has said that he will tender his resignation if his side fail 2 beat Austria & Belgium in their next 2 Euro 2012 qualifying games.

Hiddink's side currently lie 3rd in Group A - behind runaway leaders Germany & Austria - & suffered a shock 1-0 defeat in Azerbaijan in their last game. Now, the Dutch boss has alerted Europe's top club teams - including his former club Chelsea - with the news tat he could quit if Turkey do not take 6 pts fr their next 2.

''I'm trying 2 make a better Turkish national team,'' Hiddink said. ''If I can't do tat, I'll ask the chairman 2 sack me. 6 pts fr these 2 games is vital. If we don't get tat I k offer my resignation 2 the chairman & then it's up 2 him. It will mean tat I m not a successful manager.''

Hiddink was an enormously popular figure @ Chelsea during his 6 months in charge, as he led the Blues 2 the FA Cup in 2009. With Carlo Ancelotti's job up 4 review in the summer, many would suggest Hiddink is a shoo-in 2 take over fr the Italian, should both men find themselves without a job in the next few months.

Hiddink is close 2 Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, aft the Blues chief played a big part in luring him 2 the Russian national job in 2006, & another option is tat he could be offered a directorial role with Frank Arnesen's exit 2 Hamburg already confirmed tis summer.

Bosnia-Herzegovina hit by suspension

FIFA & UEFA hv suspended the Football Federation of Bosnia & Herzegovina (NSBiH) until further notice as the row over the organisation's presidency continues.

FIFA & UEFA previously ordered the NSBiH 2 cut their 3-member presidency 2 1 or face sanctions.

But a general assembly meeting in Sarajevo earlier tis week failed 2 find a resolution with the NSBiH opting 2 continue with their current structure of 3 leaders 2 satisfy the country's political make-up.

The federation currently consists of 2 associations: 1 a Bosnian Serb & another shared by Bosniaks & Bosnian Croats, headed by a Bosniak, a Croat & a Serb 2 reflect the country's ethnic division aft the 1992-1995 war.

The ruling by FIFA & UEFA means NSBiH representative & club teams r no longer entitled 2 take part in international competitions as of 2day & until the matter is resolved.

A joint statement by FIFA & UEFA added: "FIFA & UEFA deeply regret tat tis decision had 2 be taken & will meet shortly 2 discuss the next steps required 2 try 2 bring the NSBiH back in2 the football family asap.''

Bosnia & Herzegovina r currently 4th in Group D of Euro 2012 qualifying but, as it stands, will not be able 2 fulfil their next fixture against Romania on June 3.

Green back in England squad

West Ham United goalkeeper Robert Green has returned 2 the England fold aft original squad member David Stockdale had 2 be withdrawn - becos he is getting married.

Stockdale is due @ the altar on June 3, just 24 hours b4 England host Switzerland in a crucial Euro 2012 qualifier @ Wembley. Even though Stockdale, along with West Bromwich Albion's Scott Carson, would only act as back-up 2 No. 1 Joe Hart, Green has been called in aft originally asking 2 be left out 4 tis match.

Stockdale, who made 10 appearances 4 Fulham tis season, had been prepared 2 join up with the squad immediately aft the ceremony but staff decided tat would be unfair, paving the way 4 Green 2 return 2 the international squad.

"West Ham United goalkeeper Rob Green has been called in2 the England squad in place of David Stockdale," an FA statement read. "The Fulham 'keeper has a personal commitment in the build up 2 England's Euro 2012 qualifier with Switzerland @ Wembley on Saturday 4 June."

Green had been believed 2 hv previously informed Capello tat he wished not 2 be selected 4 the game, as he was due 2 become a father @ the end of tis month. The Italian was also reported 2 be wary of the 30-year-old's state of mind aft suffering relegation fr the Premier League with his club.
