Come to think of it, I guess everyone defines true love differently, and I believe there is no single definition of true love. So there won't be any conclusion for this debate and discussion. My take? If u believe u find ur true love, go for it as long as it bring u happiness, be it permanently or temporarily. Do not need to benchmark with others and do not ruin other ppl chances to seek for their own happiness as saying goes 幸福如人饮水，冷暖自知。你不是我，怎知我走过的路，心中的乐与苦。

Yes, in the past I had relationship where the girls claims to love me truly, yet only to deny she ever said that a few months later.

All relationships are works in progress and the "under construction" sign never goes off. So even if there is true love, which I would define as unselfish love for a person and not the material/physical things they possess. It may fade or get destroyed by virtue of incompatibility or circumstances. True love does not mean its unconditional, as it may fade when not returned in some measure.

True love, in my definition, is not passionate love or lustful love, its the love of the other person's mind and personality.

As rare it is to find true love, even rarer to give true love simultaneously. In my case I found true love but was not able to give true love back, which is regretful.

To give true love and not having it reciprocated, can be the saddest thing that can happen to one's life, so one can only hope it doesn't happen or that the other person is kind enough to recognize your infliction and help you get out of it.

My boyf is from a less privileged background, his dad has been driving a taxi for as long as he remembers. Whenever we go dating, I always offer to go dutch/ pay for the next meal. I hardly get pampered with material gifts, but that's okay cause gifts is not one of my love languages anyway. We've been dating for 5 years since JC, but I do see a future with more $$. So yea.
