Recent Past records shows

- Utd beating Leeds in every game
- on a good day against a weak team Utd can score at least 3 goals if not more
- max goals scored by Leeds in each game is not more than 3
- Bielsa is a rigid n stubborn manager, doesn't want or know how to change tactics if his team is falling behind so it's easy for RR to read his game plan n disrupt it if necessary...

For me, I will go for a United win this time, not following Charlie's prediction of a loss

It's 66th minutes now n they r level 2-2...gave up their 2-0 lead (H Maguire & B. Fernandes) in the 1st half to Leeds in the 2nd half ...n now (69th min) Fred (sub) has scored Goal No. 3 for the Red Devils !!! ...now it's 3-2 in Utd's favour

Btw the forgotten son Lingard didn't play well at all, looks v. rusty ...keep losing the ball to Leeds players n was substituted

So in the end, Jones, Lawro n myself predicted correctly for a Man U win except that all our scorelines r wrong

This team finally showed some grit and character, in torrential weather and a water-logged pitch. Great response to conceding two quick goals - a fluke one at that. Brave, brave decision by Rangnick to take off Pogba who was playing well but tiring. Lingard didn't do himself any favours, even getting dispossessed leading to the first Leeds fluke goal. Elanga missed a great first chance but thankfully scored his second.

And our FIRST goal from a corner, almost a year since the last one. That set-piece specialist we hired should have his job reviewed. Sancho is really coming good now. He would have had 3 assists if Elanga took his first chance. Lindelof was also fantastic taking advantage of Leeds' tactic of pressing only with one centre forward, frequently driving into the opposition half - which led to the second goal.

Hopefully Maguire and Fred continue to respond to critics like last night.

Thought should be a cruising affair after taking 2-0 lead to HT.
Then in less than 1 min.....2-2.

Then super sub Fred (really unexpected scorer) and Elanga secure the 3 points.

Great victory, but conceding 2 goals in less than a minute is serious mental issue.

Agree, Sancho looks regaining his form. Now more link up play and more threatening down the right.

Wow, it really ended 1-1 ..the goal scored against them was said to be due to the fat capt again by their young striker Joan Felix ..super sub Elanga replied for them ...on the whole the 2 teams were quite balanced that's why it ended 1 a pc...but they were lucky 2 shots from AM players hit the top of the cross bar...they were almost certain goals

Lucky to be heading back to Old Trafford with a draw. Only watched the highlights but looked a very poor first half. Stats showed we had 63% possession overall but I guess that was all second half - highlights showed it was all Atletico first half. We were lucky that Atletico seemed to have practised hitting the woodwork - twice they hit the crossbar and even their goal went in off the post. Could easily have been 3-1 to Atletico. Need to buck up for the second leg and take advantage of the big slice of luck given in this first leg.

Got a really bad feeling though. In March we have City, Pool, Spurs and this second leg against Atletico.
