Need help from bros who travel from Penang to Hatyai.

Is buying taxi voucher the only way from Penang Paya Lepas Airport to Komtar? any cheaper alternative.
Found out that 1 bro who travel from Penang to Hatyai using the below way
(Arrived Penang Paya Lepas Airport at 11:45. After gone through the immigration counter, went to buy taxi voucher to Komtar at the taxi counter (cost RM42). The journey from Airport to Komtar takes about 15min if no traffic jam.
At Komtar, went into an express bus travel agency to buy 3pm minivan ticket for Penang to Hatyai (cost RM30). The minivan (Penang to Hatyai) schedule is 9am, 12pm, 3pm.)

Or is there any other way by land from Penang Paya Lepas Airport to Hatyai without going to Komtar then to Hatyai?

If not in a hurry, there is a bus service at the DEPARTURE level, near the Air Asia booth, from the Bayan Lepas airport to KOMTAR. Nice, big, clean buses takes about 30 mins, twice the time by taxi. Can't remember the exact fare, something like RM2 or 3 only. Then from Komtar to Hatyai is RM30 via minivan. I think all abt the same same price.

Alternatively, take a cab to the main bus terminal/exchange in Penang (Sungei Nibong) 5 minutes away only. Plenty of bus going to Danok/Hatyai.

The problem at Penang Airport is the fcuking taxi services. No meter, almost flat rate at MYR50 (maybe time have changed). Should try to check if there is bus services to the bus terminal.

For me from Penang to the border, the toll oredi MYR21.60 one way, petrol about MYR 35. 2 hours.......

just like to find out, if going on the weekend b4 songkran,will be crowded????

or bussiness as usual like normal weekends??? for the gals, the hotels??? thats my greatest concern??????

8-11 april, planing to go, danok and hayt, songkran is from 13 onwards......

speaking from my experience will be like a ghost town...... most of the puyings would have gone back to their hometowns to celebrate.

I would prefer to be in Chiangmai if going around this period.

I ever went before songkran period, as per normal rates for farm and hotels. But increase on the 13th onwards if i could remember clearly.

Easier way is to tumpang your car...hehehehe!
