Dun sabo him lah..... he is NOT WORKING as a manager in the bar. He is a friend of the owner and since Arcadia is a newly opened bar..... Mr. SGP who is a regular there..... is just giving a helping hand to steady the ship.

Foreigners are not allowed to work unless they have the proper permits so by saying he is a manager will get him into trouble with the BI. And he is such a helpful and nice guy.

Arcadia

Good news! They’ve rebounded from the lows of last year and have almost returned to full strength. Even after midnite, they have about 20-25 dancers/set on wkdays and upwards of 30 on wkends.

But they are still not up to the same calibre as when they were under Korean mgt. Koreans used to pack the place out every nite. Now there are only a few Koreans.

But there are a few lookers, including one model who is a spinner.
Hope the word gets out and they get more customers. They have more girls than any other bar except the big show bars. It’s a good place to end the nite. Their talent is easier on the eye than their sisters at Centauro, and much better than what’s on offer at Salambo, and their drink prices are more reasonable. They deserve to have more customers.

But the dancers still dun wear bikinis, unlike Centauro and Salambo.

Their farang manager was just released from prison on his birthday. When it was raided, the authorities asked who the manager was, and he said he was, so apparently he was locked up until now. When he saw me, he was so happy and came all the way over from the back to clink glasses with me. Surprised he remembered me. Some of the staff went up to give him a big hug, but it seemed like a lot, or most, of the dancers didn’t even know who he was.

The passage to Equus is open again, so when u leave, u should do so thru Equus so u can see if there’s any reason to stop for a drink there.

There’s now the Burger Café in front of Arcadia and Equus. It’s another outdoor place where u can replenish ur calories while watching the passing parade.

They have also got rid of the boring cultural dancers, thank goodness. Turns out they also just got rid of the models. They’ve moved to Equus to work the “morning” shift.

They also got rid of the mamasans. Now there are 2 Filipino “choreographers” who keep the dancers moving around the stage and stop them from sitting down or leaning on the poles. One looks like Pacman.

Place was packed with Koreans, some in large groups, soon after opening.

Brown Sugar

What happened to all the dancers? This long-running bar used to be one of the most stable on the strip. While other bars had their ups and downs, this place always had a steady, loyal clientele. Many customers were friends of the mamasans, owner, waitresses and dancers. It did help that they had the latest HH of the popular bars, going until 9 pm.

So I was shocked to find only 6 dancers/set. Only a few waitresses. One of their popular mamasans quit. The place was dead, even during HH. The reason given was that the girls returned to their home provinces to vote for Dory and were taking a vacation b4 coming back.

Bad Boy Bar

Another Korean bar. Had its soft opening on Saturday nite next to Apple. By soft I mean they still dun have a full contingent of dancers. Supposedly more coming on Sunday. There were only about half a dozen dancers and seemed like they were all on stage or with customers, i.e., no rotation. They wore black dresses with a cut-out. One was “new”. She was 18.

Unlike Apple, the stage runs along 1 wall. There are 2 rows of seats along the other wall. The back row is elevated. The problem is if tall guys leave the back row, they’re going to look down at the fairly deep step down and not see the almost invisible ceiling beam painted in black and could bang their head badly.

Almost all of the customers were white-haired farang. Korean guys would tend to come in and walk right out.

If u see a tall, slim Filipina, she’s hands-off cause she’s the Korean owner’s wife.

Mama Leila is new to mamasaning and a little shy. The dancers are supposedly fresh from the provinces. Some of the waitresses are prettier and friendlier than the dancers. They wear “Bad Girl” T-shirts.

There’s 1 monitor for music videos. They need to do something about their playlist as they started including slow songs, ballads, etc and customers were complaining, saying the bar was trying to put them to sleep.

Men’s drinks P100. BF is P3,000 and seems steep for what’s on offer, as the dancers are not model/spotlite quality.

Equus

Wow! They’ve really changed their MO. They now operate in 2 parts. Part 1 starts at noon and goes to 8 pm with only models wearing dresses. There were about a dozen or less by evening. Half wear 1 color, like red, and the other half another color, like yellow. That means the models work only 8 hrs and finish at 8 pm.

The manager is Korean and the idea is obviously to try to steal some of the early Korean business from New Color and Para. At least 1 waitress is new and doesn’t have the foggiest idea what she’s doing. Asked her if it was still HH and she didn’t know what that meant. Later she asked me to teach her what that was. Asked her what the price was for a local drink and she didn’t know. Asked her to bring me a menu and she brought 1 for Muse. Her shift also ended at 8 pm. She was saying something about she could wait for me instead of going home. Not sure what she meant by that. But made me wonder if u could meet up with the models after their shift.

FYI, local drinks – beers, juices, soft drinks – are P105. It’s right there on the menu. However, the time I went there previously got charged P125. Dun let them rip u off.

Part 2 starts at 8 pm and is supposed to go to 5 am. These are the regular dancers in 2-piece uniforms. The manager is supposedly farang. Except that a little after midnite, all the remaining dancers moved to Arcadia and Equus closed for the nite, hours before 5 am!

Seems like the cultural dancers haven’t met their demise after all – they just moved here.

There are like 20-25 models/set when it opens, including spinner Mary Jane.

Korean Corridor

Seems that all these bars all in a line are now all Korean. They’re located on upper Perimeter. Best to go by jeepney. Only P7. If ur not sure where to get off, tell the driver to stop at Clarkton Hotel, a landmark on Perimeter, and walk back a little. Another way to spend some time on an early afternoon.

After School
Opens at noon but really surprised no customers and onley 2 rows of dancers on stage. Only 1 blondie worth looking twice at. This place used to be really popular. Drink price went up to P85.

Roadies
This narrow bar is now really popular. Nearly full of Koreans. Dancers look more normal and less glamorous than the models of Orange et al. They wear nurse uniforms and it’s decorated with IV drip bottles filled with various colors. Drinks P100. Dancers mostly standing and some dancing. Korean mgr won’t let them sit for long.

Lost in Asia
Now appears Korean with dancers in dresses, but few dancers and customers.

Miss A
Small bar, not many girls.

Orange
Big Korean bar with models in dresses. Supposed to have some of the best girls in AC, along with Lipstick, but was not all that impressed. Dancers sit on stage until a group of Koreans enter and the buzzer rings, so there’s zero atmosphere. Drinks P90. Opens half an hour before After School.

There is legal age for paid because prostitution is illegal in Philippines .

Legal age for sex with foreigner is 18+

For local to get a girl pregnant? No limit - even 13 is ok !

There is a silly law in Philippines enforced on foreigners (if you become target ... ) that says a girl can't be alone with a man more than 20 years older - again don't ask how it goes for 70 year old senator having 17 year old lover....

And if cops really want to set you up they can refuse the birth certificate of girl and send her for dental age check and claim she is minor.

Hence my preferring girls with baby than no baby - former high chance above 18, latter ? No clue.

And Filipinos are good at making fake ID for work and there being no official ID, I encountered few girls in LAC who turn out to be below 18, when I tested saying I can try to get them job in Singapore, they blurt they can't get passport because they are below age, I don't mess around with UA girls. Never took them out.

The youngest a friend encountered was 14 pretending to be 20. Lucky he found out before leaving the bar.
