As soon as you arrive to hotel, leave your passport (and second credit card, if you have) in the safety box. That's the safest place. Make a photocopy of your passport and bring it with you with your national identity card (Singapore, I suppose).
In case police should check you (but I don't see why... it never happened to me in many visits to Batam) you show your national ID and the passport copy. If they have any reason to investigate you more seriously, they will come to hotel with you to check the real one. End of the story.

This is what I do in any country of the world I go, including places which are much more problematic than the quiet Batam. I don't really want to discover, one day, that I lost my passport while I am in Batam. It's a nightmare! Need to: make a formal report to Police, contact the Embassy/Consulate (in Batam for you Singaporeans, I don't know where for me European), ask a substitution document, go there to pick it up, come back. After all that, I have almost surely missed my flight back home from Singapore.

Is it? As I'm looking for massage & spa at batam, it involves "everything off" so was wondering how do you deal with your important belonging than. Their hotel safety box can be trusted ma? What if there is no safety box at that hotel? Sorry too other bros if they its an annoying question to you.

Only New Spa have the Top Up for topless included in the package. The others Spa is all self nego with the masseuse. But take note the so call topless is only during the HJ, not topless for the whole session. Can choose masseuse from viewing on GRO hp but so far all feedback received were negative on the masseuse.

Better go for Octopuss and Venus.

Wa, "Great marketing" man. Top-up just to look at tis while HJ, so I guess I need to top-up more just to touch them?

I think those 2 MPs are very far apart and they are also far from the hotel that I'm planning to book. Thanks for the tip, will look into it if I decide to change location.

1) I think you don't go to Batam for a day trip, but you have a hotel for the night. If you are on a 1-day trip, then of course you have no choice to take everything with you.
Personally, I would keep my belongings with me in a small backpack (don't you travel with a bag??) also in the massage room. Where's the problem??

2) Of course I trust the safety box of the hotel! If I don't trust AT LEAST the safety box of the hotel, that's a good reason to not stay in that hotel.

Just wanted to know how safe is batam lo. What if the massage was so good that you fall asleep and not notice that someone may had gone though your belongs. So its common to even leave your passport at the hotel counter? Good to know. Thanks Black Page.

I guess everyone's traveling habits are different. For myself,i prefer to at least know my surrounding radius,hehehe...well,just in case there's an emergency,and there's a need for urgency evacuation. I kiasu ma,and safety is often my priority.

Glad its of some help to you. I believe the spoiler button was meant for posters to reduce their post size when they incidentally quote a whole post. But i learned later that the quote button works the same,just that the one who quotes cannot quote what i quoted 1st.

Our objectives were different. Mine was to help others not to quote my whole long post,yours is more of the pictures.

*i think the forum close an eye most time on quoting a whole but short post.
