hi sweety,

there are many classes of discos in Jkt.
there are those where you go to get high and you can buy pills from the waiter.
these places like crown, stadium are typically situated in the seedier northern part of the city. they close at 5am if i am not wrong

there are those more classy bars/disco like CJ, BATS,Pula Tigah,X2,Vertigo,Embassy which are situated in the south or in 5 star hotel.
there are WL in such places. you can negotiate with them . the price ranges from 400k to 800k rupiah. varies.

SOP wise, just make eye contact and go with flow.
do note that for up mkt places like Dragonfly or blowfish, the gals are gorgeous but most of them are there just to have fun. they might not be WL.
please note on this.

if it is your first time in jkt, better to stick to the bars in the 5 star hotel.
wandering in north jkt at night can be rather dangerous. especially after 2am.

Not too sure abt that. gals complain that prices of living more ex nowdasy, cannot reduce. Hahaha.

Can always nego lah, KNN, fewer people cheong nowdays, you bagain, they will give in. Of cos, not too unreasonable rates lah.

Usually, major holidays, they will be more unwilling to lower prices. More people what!

Massage Parlours, the gals sometimes dont even get a customer a day. Usually, their business is better on weekends( fri to sundays). Ever told by a gal I am the 5th customer that day. Somedays, I am their first even at 9pm, when I go for massage.

My regulars dare not ask for more, knowing times are bad

City to inspect expats’ papers

Tifa Asrianti , The Jakarta Post , Jakarta | Mon, 12/01/2008 7:11 AM | Headlines

The city administration will launch on Wednesday a 10-day operation cracking down on expatriates living in Jakarta without the appropriate papers.

“The main targets of this operation are the companies that employ foreign nationals,” head of the City Population and Civil Registration Agency, Franky Mangatas Panjaitan, told The Jakarta Post on Sunday.

A team of officials from the population agency, City Manpower Agency, Immigration Office and the police will carry out the inspections, city secretary Muhayat said.

According to data held by the population agency, Jakarta is home to 49,000 foreign nationals with extendable visit permits and 5,000 permanent residents who have lived here for more than five years in a row.

Inspections will be carried out in Central Jakarta, where there are reportedly 12,045 foreign nationals, on Wednesday and Thursday.

Mohammad Hatta, head of the Central Jakarta municipal population agency, said his office usually inspected foreign nationals’ permits once a year.

The aim of the operation is to control the city population and to detect any foreign nationals staying the city illegally, he said.

“Not all foreign nationals have good intentions,” he said. “Some smuggle drugs and others become strippers.”

He said every foreign worker must hold a passport, visitor identity card (KIP) for foreign nationals issued by the administration, a temporary stay permit (KITAS) issued by the immigration office, a working license (IKTA) from the manpower agency and a letter of self-report (SMD) from the police.

He said the officers would visit companies that employed expatriates to check the documents.
“If any documents are missing, we will ask them to process them. During the inspections, we will set up a unit in the agency office on Jl. S. Parman to provide services for making documents. If any expatriates don’t have a KITAS, they can be deported,” he said.

He said companies could face penalties if they employed foreign nationals without all the required documentation.

Those found guilty of not adhering to the rules can face Rp 5 million in fines or 3 months in prison.

Kenneth, an Australian, said the inspection opera-tion could be a source of corruption.

Well done the Police of Jakarta....

Expats give mixed reaction to crackdown

Triwik Kurniasari , The Jakarta Post , Jakarta | Tue, 12/02/2008 7:20 AM | Headlines

The city administration’s plan to crack down on expatriates living in Jakarta without the appropriate documents has sparked mixed reactions from foreign nationals here.

Filipina singer Maribeth Pascua, famous for her song “Denpasar Moon”, said the plan was a good one.

“I agree. If their papers are illegal, (foreign nationals) have to be deported. I for one always follow the Immigration Office’s regulations,” said Maribeth, 37, who has lived in Indonesia for about 17 years.

Although professing to enjoying life in the country, she lamented that applying for Indonesian citizenship was a lengthy process.

She said immigration officials had suggested she work as a permanent employee of a company to gain citizenship.

Maribeth now works full-time as a lecturer in mass communications at the London School of Public Relations in Jakarta.

Fellow Filipino Birgilio Montinola said the planned inspections would be good in tracking down expatriates living here illegally, but warned the government must exercise caution in doing so.

“Many expats are here legitimately, with the intention of helping Indonesia develop its potential through their experience and knowledge, and willing to do this together with their Indonesian counterparts,” Birgilio said.

The city administration’s 10-day operation will cover Central Jakarta on Wednesday and Thursday, where there are reportedly 12,045 foreign nationals. The operation will target companies employing foreign nationals.

Mohammad Hatta, head of the Central Jakarta municipal population agency, said every foreign worker must hold a passport, visitor identity card (KIP) issued by the administration, a temporary stay permit (KITAS) issued by the immigration office, a working license (IKTA) from the manpower agency and a letter of reference (SMD) from the police.

Companies employing foreign nationals without the required papers can face stiff penalties, Hatta warned. Violators can face Rp 5 million (US$388) in fines or 3 months in jail. (fmb)

Re: Jakarta's trip

Hi bros,
Something just hit me, the cops are doing the raids waves, so if we keep the informations coming, we should be able to inform each other which places have and have not been raided.
The place that have not raided maybe more prone to be raided, compare to the ones that just got raided.
So sharing which one were just have be raided would give us an idea which cheonging place to go for a safer fun time.
Thanks for all your help.

My humble two cents.
