thai amulet-khun paen

Hi to all bros, i'm a noob to thai amulet but do believe in them. I got a few amulets but are from local amulet shop. I will be going to bkk next mth, so any bro can recommend me any good temple for amulet?
I no need historic/competition amulet as i'm not a collector. Just need a geniune one from reputable temple..

u should get more for bros here u sell 200baht its still a very good price compared to outside market!

Some of the amulets are cheap but there are expensive ones too due to the historic value. Do take into consideration, CM & CR is a big province. Most of the reputable temples do not situated in a cluster or nearby. The transport cost is not cheap. If needs to cater a vehicle with driver, it will cost 1500 to 2k plus Bahts per day depends on the distance. Furthermore needs to spend much of the time on the road travelling.

does the top part glow in the dark? rem mine does...a bit regret letting it go that time...it was still quite cheap then but after few years the price seems to increase mine was dark brown meat..think its made of burnt leaves that are used to write scriptures

ok ma 1.5k-2k per day, driver i use frm bangkok to outside of bkk oso 2k per day...run temple is like that lo, if u can find few friends share with u then cheaper

i used to be quite eager to visit chiangmai to see Kruba Duangdee, but delay till now he not around liao hiaz...CM seems a real nice place many great monks stayed there to develop their attainments

pig- there are amulets and yant of wild boar
deer, goat, cow - Lersi
fish- remember there are amulets of taipan fish or something like that
(monkey,snake,tortise,tiger,horse,elephant,crocodi le-these are items we don really eat la)

not to forget some rahu amulets have 12 chinese zodiac signs printed so all these 12 are out as well

if the animal is on a amulet and u pray to thai style gods u will have headache for lunch/dinner

Just a reminder to brother who wish to visit temple in the northern part of LOS. Sometimes the abbot of temple might travel to other provinces or countries when you intend to visit them. Try to contact the respective temple to ensure that the abbot is presence before you embark your journey. Cheers.

Not to offend anyone, but actually can eat anything. No such myth for Thai Buddhist amulets.
My Acharn thought me this. Actually because, when i first took up Thai Buddhism many years ago, i too was susceptible to such myths. One such myth was "cant eat starfruit" i actually stopped eating starfruit for a whole year, till i saw my Acharn eat starfruit i almost fainted! Then he explained to me, many people out of ignorance (like myself) fall prey to unscrupulous people trying to make wearing a Thai amulet like a mystery or difficult and riddled with many pantangs so they can jack the prices of amulets up!

Imagine a 20 year Wat Rakhang amulet they tried to sell me for like Sgd350 ? Wow! With that money i can invite a box of Genuine Wat Rakhang similar period amulets home!
