In Dannok, Betong and Sugai Golok both MYR and THB are accepted as form of payment except for certain places such as McDonald's and supermarkets where the rates are less favourable if you pay with MYR.

Most places accept MYR1 = THB10.

anyway just tried out a new way to travel to danok.
Take coach from golden mile to klia2 KL airport direct. 2350, $35. Reach 0500. Take airAsia to alor Setar airport. 0700, $13. Reach 0810. Take taxi to danok. 55myr. Time reach danok 0830 GMT+ 7. the Malaysian custom stamping my exit was scratching his head when he saw that my entry stamp was at JB on the same day.

Why all the trouble? Because I finish work at 2200. last coach to hatyai from Singapore 2030. Take flight reach danok fastest also 1430. Meaning I got 6hr headstart. go lovel put bag chop room. Eat ba kut teh. Go tesco buy tidbit and beer. Go back room start drinking marathon. By the time those taking tiger air reach danok, I already vomited once took a half hour nap, drinking 2nd round at ktv already.

Your method works for you but not so cost effective for me.

1) Stay at TMT Hotel
2) Once reach Dannok must go Tesco stock up on snacks and alcohol

We should cheong together in Dannok some day!

Yeah sure! I might be going end next month.
The police guy is friend or brother of someone working there I forgot who. The thai guy at the counter at night is brother in law of one of the massage lady there.

Don't even bother to change baht. Unless you planning to visit 7 -11 a lot, and diet on just McD stuff

. They accept both Ringgit and Baht. Penalty for Ringgit only happens at both 7 - 11 and McD as i've found out.

My apologize for off topic, any kind soul who often visit Danok know any petrol station in Danok actually operate 24hrs

? I'm doing a ride end point may at Danok, I need a receipt to proof my ride end at Danok. I will reach around 1am.

1. Danok have no petrol kiosk, if you really need petrol, there are some shops or make shift petrol points selling petrol by bottles. For sure no receipts, they buy from Malaysia to sell ....

2. There may be a couple of petrol kiosks on the way to Hatyai, but they are not 24 hours. Same as those Malaysian kiosks near the border.

3. 1am? You risk being locked out. Border close at 11pm Thai time......

I intended to ride from SG to Krabi and u turn back to end my ride at Dannok.
I also suspect HatYai to Dannok had no 24hr petrol kiosk, if that the case I have to re route my ride as I need an official receipts from petrol station.
