hahaha, another assumption on yr own again.

Ya, I have no CPF in SG, how it happened, wat happened, I leave it 2 u 2 figure out. Some brudders who met me have seen my previous SG NRIC, kena punch hole by Govt liao, cannot use in SG liao. As I mentioned b4, think outta the box. I write 2 much here, the SG Govt's likely 2 implement some more new policies / law, it'll juz destroy those quitters wannabes' (who're able 2 tink outta the box) plans only.

Re: thai baht rate update

Still figuring about the strength of the TBH as the THB strength is proving to be a paradigm - economic analyses are suggesting weakness, but it remains quite well supported. I think it's more a function of USD weakness, (over Asia), which is keeping the THB strong.

As USDJPY begins to turn up, it will lead to a stronger USD against the THB, so this will hopefully weaken it. This will put it in line with Thailand's current economic situation (which is not fantastic)

Anyone got other views? Kindly share here...

Re: thai baht rate update

Falling domestic interest rates are also contributing...

Foreign demand for THB assets is also a factor....not strictly the Shin Corp issue, but they are probably the most visible. They hold the limelight at the moment. Shin Corp is the one which brought down Thaksin, I believe. Selling his share to Temasek - not sure. But bear in mind that Thai companies have limits on how much of a % they can sell shares to overseas companies.

Thai economy is stronger than people would think possible, but it could be factored by the weak USD keeping the THB strong. I suppose the truth of this will be tested when the USD changes direction, and the THB weakens. The effect on the economy will then be more obvious

And yes, ironically it (TBH) has STRENGTHENED since the coup, but this may be because with Thaksin out of the way, investors are more confident. I'm not sure how peoples' perception of Thaksin was, so can't comment on this thought...will call to ask my tirak

Not a true reflection of present macros anyhow. Growth forecast revised downwards. Neither think post Thaksin era is any more comfort to investors with all the political uncertainty, policies merry round (this is after all, Thailand). Spurring domestic economy aka consumption was spearheaded before present regime, but reality is exports underpines growth.
